It was good that I had a week of blistering cold Minnesota running which pretty much prepared me for the colder weather we’ve had this week. This morning was a shorter interval run, but the 20 minute high intensity interval pretty much set me up to only focus on the run, and the upcoming Groundhog Day Marathon. I’m trying to just trust my training is preparing me like it should but the longest I’ve ran since the last marathon was 18 miles, which is 8.2 miles short. Again, I need to keep my focus on merely finishing and not let myself get caught up with anything else. I can’t deny that it would be great to beat my last marathon time, but I can’t let that be my focus. I want to make sure that I’m enjoying myself as well. Perhaps that sounds crazy, to think that someone would enjoy running 26.2 miles, LOL. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus

I waivered on whether to go out and run or break out the treadmill this morning. For me I figure if I’ve ran part of a marathon in a cold downpouring rain I can handle a 50 degree sprinkle for a free miles. In general I will always opt for the outdoors versus the treadmill….
Got in an easy 11 miles today. Enjoyed another run just listening to the worship music and not letting myself get too wrapped up in work or other distractions. #HW #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus
This morning during my prayer and worship time I immediately thought of the #EnableTheChildren staff and kids and the impact that rainy season has on them. I also focused on the #WorldHope teams as they work on drilling new wells. Praying for safety and success as the teams work to put the wells in that the #HWI team raised money for. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon

The winter running season has officially begun. It was just a light snow so the sidewalks were still clear for the most part. We’ll see what they’re like tomorrow after the snow accumulates. I’m not on a new training plan but an easy 6 mile run seemed like a good distance to shoot for. #HWI…

Our organization is so close to reaching our goal and being able to bring clean water to 21,250 people in Africa. I’m still $780 away from hitting my goal before the Grand Rapids Marathon on October 15th. I hope there are those that would be willing to partner with me to bring clean water to…
