Knocking Out The Saturday Morning Long Run – 25K Training
I honestly don’t know what changed this week, but as far as my running goes I have felt great this week. Knocking out the runs with paces that have far exceeded my expectations. I’m not sure if this means my training schedule is too easy for where I’m really at or I am just pushing myself too hard. One would like to think that after training and completing 4 marathons that you would see some improvements. However, I’m getting older so that typically means getting slower, but I’m fortunately not seeing that yet. I would have to say that many of my fast runs this week have easily been affected by tuning into the worship running music I listen too. Instead of being the one…
Clean Water Brings Safety To A Community
Imagine this picture take during the rainy season with a rushing creak under this bridge. That is just one of the many dangers that children, on the trek to water, face each day. When water isn’t easily accessible to a community most often children are tasked with making the journey each day to gather a container of water for their families. A new locally available water supply helps keep kids safe in Africa. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Donate to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
Just Another Tuesday Morning 10K
Since I kind of felt at an odd place training plan-wise I decided to do a long and hard run. I did however make sure I spent some time connecting with God through prayer and some worship music. During my run I couldn’t help feel blessed, and thankful, for my quick recovery from my surgery. I had the impression that I would have weeks of no running, but my recovery went so well I was feeling good for a run within a week. I also was reminded that just a little over a year ago I had just returned from a trip to Sierra Leone Africa. I will never forget my experience there and the impact it has had on my life. Seeing first hand…
Last Training Run Before The Big Day, Remembering The Cause
Today was the last training run before the #GRMarathon on Sunday. I wanted to highlight what our team is working to accomplish. Helping communities go from a shallow hole in the ground to a reliable well that can sustain the people it serves. There is still time to partner with #HWI and help us continue to build more wells in Africa. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #Run4Water #WhyIRun
Getting Out Of The Route Rut
Water brings hope and changes lives. Water can mean the difference between life and death for many in Africa. Will you be a part of impacting the world with clean water? Join me today! https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon This morning I decided to change up the route quite a bit. Where I went wasn’t completely new but it was an area that I hadn’t been in any of my training routes for awhile. There are a fair amount of places to go for my runs so it’s nice to change things up once in a while.
More Miles For Clean Water
During this season of celebrating Christ’s birth we can celebrate 15 new wells that will be going in this coming year. There’s more work to be done, so consider a year-end gift to clean water. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Give the blessing of clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
