I’m going to keep this a little short as I’m actually typing this all out on my phone. I decided to try to consolidate and at the same time bring my old blog up-to-date and back into the picture. I haven’t really taken the time to blog in years. Going to perhaps pick things up again, while at the same time tie in my Twitter and facebook. We’ll see how it goes, not making any commitment, plus I can only type so long on my phone before nmy hands get tired. More to come later, hopefully.

Well, it seems that once I get out of sync with something it can be like pulling teeth to get back into it. It pretty much began when I moved out here to Michigan that my online presence started to fade a little. Since I’ve gotten married it’s been even less. I think what has happened is that when I was just a single guy there was not really anyone much to protect. I could pretty much voice my opinion and share my feelings about anything to the entire world without much fear of the consequences. Things are very different now. I have a wife to protect. This isn’t a bad thing. I’d protect her from anything I could, she’s my wife, I love her more than anything of course. I think I just have a harder time writing now because I have to choose what I say even more carefully. The other reality that I have is that I no longer work for people that are generally understanding and caring. Ok, that’s not entirely true. What I mean is that there are too many cases now where potential employers, or current ones, do some Googling to find out about it’s current or potential employees. I don’t want to put something out there about my work that causes me to somehow lose my job or her future prospects for jobs. Now, anyone reading this, don’t be thinking that I’m leaving my job anytime soon. You just never know how long you’re going to be somewhere and when you might have to look for a job again.

Well, the morning is rushing on and I’ll be needing to get on my way. Perhaps this might finally be the return of my daily thoughts. We’ll see. I do rather miss my spilling it all on here, letting the world see a glimpse of what’s going on in this crazy head of mine. Actually, I wonder if anyone follows this thing anymore. I used to have so many readers, but maybe that’s a good thing. Tah-tah!

This is going to have to be short, I need to get ready for bed. Life’s been pretty great, but busy too. Vanessa and I have been busy planning wedding details and starting to get things ready at her place for me to move in. It’s tax season and I got my taxes all done and submitted last week. On the bad side my MN taxes are under review I guess, just got a not about it today. It doesn’t say that I’m being audited , but they sent me a questionnaire about my MI residency, perhaps they couldn’t believe that I’d think about moving to MI. jk

Last week my PowerBook was sent off to Apple for a little repair. I also ordered a nice 160GB drive to put in it after it got fixed. I used a slick little app called <ttag>SuperDuper!</ttag> to do a full system backup. With my over sensitivity to security I went a little crazy a removed all my important documents, passwords, keychains, etc from the machine before it was shipped off. I just got it back today and began the process of restoring my full backup and prepping the new drive. I decided to do a new install of <ttag>Mac OS</ttag> on the new drive and then a migration of all my data and apps to the new install. It’s working away and hopefully will be ready for the surgery. It doesn’t seem to major to take the machine apart, just need to keep track of all the screws. There are some great guides at <ttag>ifixit.com</ttag>.

Thursday I’ll be heading to a retreat with Vanessa and the church staff for the weekend. I’m looking forward to a some hanging out, and getting to know people better. Hopefully Vanessa and I don’t get lost this time. Well, the clock has ticked itself by. It sure feels nice to blog again. I don’t know what my problem has been. I’ll have to take the time to get on here and post some updates.

One more thing, <ttag>Heroes</ttag> is a great show! If you haven’t had a chance to check it out watch the episodes online at <ttag>NBC</ttag> and get caught up. The new shows are excellent. I can’t wait again for next weeks!

Thx Google for all the neat tools they keep pumping out. I’m now using Google Calendar slightly integrated into my blog. Should work ok. I’m feeling the itch to get back into blogging and podcasting…we’ll see what the schedule brings. I’m also thinking it might be time for a WordPress upgrade and site redesign/makeover. I may even go so far as bridge the gap between my blog site on the Tim blog. Perhaps I’ll bring the designs of the two inline with each other and distribute the content logically between them as well. We’ll see what I feel like doing, let alone have time for. I’ve been feeling for some time that my blog site really kind of got out of hand with so much stuff. There are parts that don’t get updated very often and perhaps should either be removed or at least moved to a page rather than taking up space on the long-winded sidebar. Well, I need to go to bed, blah! Cheers!

BTW, we’re going dancing tomorrow! (Tues) Actually, more accurately we’re taking a dance class. I can’t wait!

OK, folks. So it has been a rather long time since I last posted. Let’s just say that my life has been a little busy. Last week on Monday I started my new job. My official title is Associate Network Planning Engineer, isn’t that a mouth full. I work on a team that develops tools to help track the cellular network and help to plan for expansion. The crazy thing about last Monday was that even though I was starting no one there that day really knew that I was starting. The guys I work with got the emails that morning about me starting. The IT deptartment wasn’t very happy as they hadn’t even begun working on getting me a computer. I basically had not computer and no desk to call my own. By the end of that week I had finally gotten a computer to use and a desk to work at, I also got my new company cell phone.

The phone wasn’t all I had hoped. We basically get a free phone up to $250, but at retail prices. I was really hoping to get my hands on a new <ttag>Treo 700p</ttag>, but I was only going to be able to get that by forking over an additional whopper of $400 out of my pocket. With the new move I just going justify spending that kind of money. In the end I have a decent phone, but I’m not able to do all the bluetooth syncing stuff I would have liked to do. I was able to easily send the contacts I felt I needed over to the phone from my Mac Address Book, which was nice.

I spent most of Saturday and Sunday with Vanessa. On Saturday morning she had to take her car in for some checkup stuff before it was taken out to NY. We went to the mall and did some shopping. I actually came out pretty good with my shopping. I saved almost $150 off the retail price wiht what I bought. Great sales for sure. We went to a great pizza place for lunch and I had my first <ttag>calzone</ttag>, boy was that excellent eatin!

Sunday I helped Vanessa get some stuff done at church, she works there by-the-way. I ran and got us Subway for lunch, we got back to her place about 4:30. We just spent some time together. She was heading out on a missions trip on Monday morning and she won’t be back until like the 23rd. She made an amazing supper for me that night. It was meatballs and rice, along with fruit and salad. I’d have to say is definitely one of my favorites. That night I got in on a server upgrade at work, around 10pm, but I didn’t get home until like 6:30am the next morning. Let’s just say that things didn’t go as planned. I didn’t end up going into work until a bit after noon on Monday.

Monday night I went over to Vanessa’s parent for supper and to power-wash my patio bench. I’m going to be staining/water sealing it and needed to get it cleaned up. I had a wonderful time visiting with Vanessa’s parents. I always have so much fun and feel so at ease with her family. I did manage to get a little bit more sleep that night than the previous.

Well, and that brings me to today. Another day of work and getting more projects added to my list. I do have to say that I was a bit happy because of something that was mentioned at a meeting we had. One of my co-workers complimented me rather nicely to my boss. It was so nice to hear that I’m relaly seen as an asset to the team.

So I didn’t go into a lot of detail, it has been awhile and I just don’t have the time to go into the kind of detail I normally would ifI was just recapping a day. I hope all those that might be stumbling by, to check up on me, are doing excellent as well. I’ll do my best to get back into a few more posts each week. It seems kind of crazy to go from multiple daily posts to only once every couple of weeks. I do however post my morning devotional thought almost every morning over on my Faith Shaping website. Alrighty, cio!
