The Time Has Come…

Well, for those that have long awaited a post to thie fabulous blog, here we go. This will probably be a short one. So much has been going on since my last post, actually a lot happened through December that I didn’t even get time to write about. I’m really looking forward to life settling down a bit.

The first day of youth group begins tomorrow, and we had are first youth praise team meeting today, since Christmas that is. Tonight we just came up with a list of songs we want to do this winter/spring. I’ll be putting together the set lists and get them all the songs. I’ve even created a schedule that will be available online as well. I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with the youth. We had a really excellent youth leaders this past Saturday that really put some things into perspective for all of us I think.

Teach Me Patience…

These past few days have been pretty amazing. Let’s just say for starters, that God has really been teaching me a lot these days. This is something I very much need to think about and reflect on daily. Kind of all goes back to the learning circle. How important it is to reflect, plan, and act on the teaching that God does in our lives. It can be so easy to learn and move on without it having a truely lasting impact on our lives. God has been reminding me of this too.

As of Wednesday God has really been revealing to me a need to be getting out of the Christian bubble I live in. It’s much like the times the disciples wanted to stay with Jesus rather than go out and be among the people. The reality is I am not involved with anything that is not connected with church or my job. I’m not making the assumption that everyone that attends something at the church is a Christian and doesn’t need to be ministered too, but take a look at Jesus as the example. He didn’t spend all His time preaching in the synagogue, he was teaching among the people that would never set foot in a synagogue. This is what we all need to do, not just hide ourselves in the church. The is the failing of the church today. We are about come to us, not going to them.

Is God Leading Me…Well of Course

Hmm…so as I was just beginning to type this post I’m thinking once again. What is really ok to be sharing and what isn’t. I tend to be almost an open book with my life on here. Is this ok. My ultimate concern is how the people that read it might be effected, especially if it happens that I talk about them in my blog. The truth of the matter is I need to be extra careful about what I say about any, if at all. Talking about people on here is borderline gossip, actually it’s not much different. So now I’m thinking I need to change my writting a bit. What I write needs to be kept about myself for the most part. Obviously making a comment that I went to some place with someone, and I use their name, isn’t a big deal. However any thoughts I have about someone need to be kept to myself, and shared only with that person if I’m going to speak about it at all. So this brings up the whole eHarmony topic. Seems like I’ve already said too much on here concerning that subject. I’m referring to the other involved.

Well, where I was originally going with this entry was the fact that my newest eHarmony match as sent me a really amazing message. I won’t go into the details of it but it’s obvious that God is guiding this whole eHarmony thing, in my life that is. This shouldn’t be a surprise as I’ve been seeking His will in the whole thing. It continues to amaze my how God works, it’s sad what so many people in this world are missing.

Busy Night…Small World

Well, today (er, I guess looking at the time I have to say tomorrow), it was a pretty slow day at work. Had a fun time talking about bread with a co-worker, she has like 3 bread machines, seems like her family would have bread coming our of their ears. From the conversations in the break room today you could definitely tell it was a Friday. After work I stopped at the seminary to meet with Phil to talk about a projector installation project. This will probably be a side job, which means some extra cash. It shouldn’t take too much to get a list of the equipment needed and do the install.

I decided I wanted to get over to the play at “A Center for the Arts”. There were 4 youth involved in it from youth group. They did a really excellent job. It was basically the story of the Princess and the Pea as a musical. It had some pretty funny parts. If anyone close might be reading this before the Saturday night show I would recommend going.
