Out With The DustSo I had a great time at WordCamp Grand Rapids this past weekend. As a result I’m deeply considering dusting of my websites, and blog, and attempting to be more active. Life is crazy busy but I know that writing down my thoughts had always been good for me in the past. Consider this post a trial run.

Great IM Converstations…

I had some excellent IM conversations tonight. Was talking with Ginny and catching up to what their family has been up to. Sounds like Jim is getting steady business. He’s been doing a lot of work for Wells Fargo. And the home schooling has been going good too. We ended up talking about relationship stuff. Today God opened my eyes to the current state of my life, and the need for the support of people who love me. It can be the most humbling thing to ask for help, I have felt that tonight. My inability to say no, and my drive to please the world, have brought me to a place where many aspects of my life have suffered. Where Does Our Witness Begin?

As I sat here thinking about how to safely write my thoughts, I began to be reminded of the life of Christ and his actions. I’m thinking of how he was viewed by those around him. Is it not true that Christ did things that were against the culture of the times, or at least things that caused people to question his actions? He had meals with those that the spiritual leaders wouldn’t dare find themselves in the company of. I guess at the moment the only examples that come to mind are those where he interacted with people that most wouldn’t. I guess my ultimate question is where is the line drawn where we can live in the freedom we have in Christ verses…

When Storms Test Your Faith

I can honestly say that both my wife and I are going through some difficult storms in our lives right now. Many days come that cause me to have no option but to trust that God has it handled even though I feel like things are out of control and falling down all around me. I can say that I have still seen God come through, especially in the case of my Mom’s seizure, brain surgery, and recovery. I don’t know when the “other side” of all this will be seen but I know God is bigger than me.

In an effort to trying posting on a regular basis, here goes #2 for the year. 🙂 Recently over the course of a few weeks I applied for a job, got 2 intrviews and was offered a job. The job, in-and-of itself, I would have loved, however it would have come at a great financial cost to my family, which would have made it much harder to either adopt again or think about buying a new house. Mercy and Grace in Relationships

“When we allow God’s love and mercy to flow through us to our spouse, we will find less conflict, more grace, quicker forgiveness and much more delight at home.” I know that too often, I jump to conclusions and assumptions instead of giving people, especially my wife, the benefit of the doubt. This an area that has produced far more conflict then it could have had I just executed a little grace and mercy first. We have a God that shows us far more grace, love, and mercy than we deserve. So it really goes without question that we need to attempt to do b the same in our relationships, especially with our spouse.
