Getting in Another 3 Miles on a Hot Summer Morning
Regardless of what my plan was I still managed to get out of bed and get my run in, so it was still a good day. #HWI #KCC #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRHalfMarathon
Nearing The End Of The 25K Training
I’m on the taper part of my training as the #RiverBankRun approaches this Saturday. After not running for a few days I wondered how this morning would even go. It started off slow but by the end I was cruisin’. I managed to get another PR this morning which feels like a good place to be going into race week. My plan right now will be to stick with the pacers on Saturday. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun
Starting A New Week, Letting Go of the Speed
After a pretty hard Saturday run, and after seeing posts online shared by other runners, I think I’m finding my place as a slower runner. #HWI, #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun
God’s Amazing Work
So I know that I haven’t been so good about keeping up my blog posts on a regular basis. It’s kind of amazing how even when life seems to settle down you don’t have time foe some of the simple things. I guess one issue I’ve been facing lately is not being able to get to sleep early, and getting up early. It just has kind of thrown things off a bit. I guess the other part of my lack of blogging is the fact that I’ve started the podcast as well. Even more is how much God has been doing in my life, which has kind of kept me from blogging. Like the fact that I have someone special that is apart of my…
A Little Less Hair And A Little More Speed
This morning was a bonus #Endomondo training run day. According to the Endomondo marathon training plan I needed to do at least 5 days of running per week which meant adding Wednesdays as a running day instead of the #HWI training plan’s cross training day. I haven’t gone through to see how other things line up though I have my doubts much will actually line up. We’ll see what plan I end up following in the end. I spent some time thinking about, and praying for, the people in Sierra Leone, especially those that I encountered last year when I was there. The rainy season should have either started or should be starting. This always presents it’s own challenges. For many getting around during the…
Completed My First Marathon…
Today was a pretty big day for me. I completed my first ever marathon. It was a tough day, with the down pouring rain, wind gusts of 20 some miles per hour, and getting cramps in my legs that slowed me down, I ended the race pretty discouraged. Not to mention I ended up having to be taken to the medic tent after crossing the finish line, which was something my running partner and I had talked about not wanting to have happen to us. Let’s just say it was a pretty humbling experience. I’m so thankful for all of the encouragement from the many Hope Water International runners the kept encouraging me on the way to the finish line. I especially appreciate Ron Bussa and Nick…
