Back at it again this morning. It was an intense short training test run. I was hoping to see a #5K #PR but that may have to wait until Saturday when I do the #HotCiderHustle 5K. I had just ran the night before so my body hadn’t really had a ton of recovery time. I’ll be looking forward to representing #HWI at the Hot Cider Hustle. It sounds like there will be a few of us out there. I always love having the opportunity to share to share about the mission when I where my Hope Water blue. Got in good long run in this morning, with the help of my running partner. I was thankful to not have to do the whole 18 miles alone. It felt good to know that even in the winter I can do that long of a run. The last couple of miles was a push, but I was also about out of water, so that didn’t help matters. Looking forward to more winter runs in the future. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus
Sporting the Slip n Slide 5K shirt on my training run this morning. It was a hot one at 5am, I can’t imagine doing my run later today. Running in the heat took me back to our short 3 mile run in Freetown #SierraLeone and remembering #WhyIRun for those in need. I was blessed to have 2 fresh bottles of water available to me while I ran. That is a luxury not found by many in Sierra Leone. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water Hudsonville, Michigan, United States of America
Getting it done on another cool morning. You know #summer is back when you start having to avoid #sprinklers again. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water
Headed down to the Grand Rapids YMCA downtown and picked up my race packet and checked out the expo. Enjoyed chatting with some #HWI folks as well as some race organizers for other marathons that take place in the Spring. Who knows maybe another marathon besides the #GRMarathon will be in my future some day. I am signed up for the #RiverBankRun this next May, so looking forward to some winter training for that. I’m still looking to hit that $2000 mark for wells in Africa. I have about $750 to go. There’s still time to partner with me if you haven’t yet. #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Water, to Life – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
As my wife and I have been on a journey of eating healthy, and being more active, I’m always interested in ideas for new recipes or things to try for snacks/meals/etc. Following some of the activity tracking app blogs or other runner blogs is always a good source of ideas. 4 Recipes for Runners: Eat Right – Run Better https://www.runtastic.com/blog/en/nutrition/4-recipes-for-runners-eat-right-run-better-2/ https://www.runtastic.com/blog/en/nutrition/dairy-free-carrot-walnut-cookie-recipe/
