An Early Morning Snowy Progressive Run

It was a hard run, especially with the snow, but I got it done. It was an early run too, as I needed to get it wrapped up before my wife needed to leave. The snow made it very hard to hit my target pace when the second part of the run called for kicking into high gear. I’m hoping that the sidewalks and walkways all get cleared before this next week of runs.

It was a crisp morning so starting out I was a tad chilly but after getting in about a mile a warmed up. That’s one of the upsides of winter running, there is a lot of motivation to keep running. When clean water is brought to a community it’s not done suddenly and randomly then moving on to another random village. World Hope(#WHI) works with a carefully chosen village to establish ownership of the well by that village. The village agrees to manage and care for the well in order to serve their community for the long term. The are taught how to maintain and repair the well, and are tasked with protecting it as well. With the exception of some shorter runs with the Hope Water team on Saturdays, or a race, my time to run is generally early in the morning before the sun rises. Except for the fact that I’m not really a morning person, and would rather stay in bed than get up and run, I like the peacefulness of an early morning run….

Nothing too spectacular about my run this morning. Tried sticking to the interval paces as best I could. I did pretty good but I know I didn’t slow down quite enough given that I should have gotten 9.2 miles in but it ended up being 9.65. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus
