Devotions for Sacred Parenting – Day 7: A Season of Sacrifice
“Our kids, by their existence, make a legitimate spiritual claim on our time, our money, and our focus.” – Devotions for Sacred Parenting by Gary L. Thomas I was challenged today in how I approach being a Dad. Too often I choose to focus on everything but my kids. Our time is too short with our kids, and there will be years ahead when we will have all kinds of time to pursue other things. Introducing The Classics
I love it when I get a chance to introduce my kids to some of the movie classics I grew up watching, like Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory. I constantly feel like they just don’t make movies like they used to. These days everything is special effects and action, whereas the technologic limitations forced a lot of focus and energy on the story. I love to see my kids actually engaged in the movie stories that I watched as a kid. I can’t tell you how many times my kids wanted to watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang before they were ready to move on.
