A little bit of rain tonight but we got our campsite setup, had supper over the camp stove, got a #swim in, and had a #campfire. We don’t let a little rain keep us from enjoying some camping. #FamilyCamping

Resisting the urge to work nights or weekends has been a challenge since starting my new job with Sprint back in September. Having a big high visibility project, that is all new, hasn’t helped matters. This article from DZone says a lot to why I need to put my boundaries back in place. I know things aren’t at a good place when my wife says “you’ve been working a lot lately, when will things get back to normal”. Major red flag indeed. So looking forward to the next few months as we’ll be moving into a new house, and my wife plans a trip to Africa, I’ll need to think long and hard before I pickup the work computer during my nights and weekends.Celebrating The Greatest Act Of Love By God

While I did have to focus a little bit on the speed work part of my training run this morning, I spent a good part of that time reflecting on a lot of what God has been speaking to me about over the past week. I was challenged last night at the Daybreak missions dinner with what I am doing with my running, and my experience going to Sierra Leone. Having seen first hand what it’s like in Sierra Leone, I’m feeling challenged to evaluate how well I am using my running and my experience to make a difference. Even though it was still humid the temperature was for sure cooler this morning when I stepped out the door. I got some good sprints in. I spent some time thinking about the village of #Ronkorhun , and the people I met there, praying that God would revitalize the people and draw them to Him. I also got to thinking about the amazing #HWI community that I am a part of, not only in West Michigan but as a whole. Praying that God would get us all through to the end. I prayed that the love and welcoming nature of the Hope Water teams would be felt by all that join a group run. #GRMarathon #Run4Water #WhyIRun
