Final Training Week Before The Groundhog Marathon

It was kind of strange to not have ran since last Thursday, and I always fear any sort of break is going to set my training back. Once I hit the pavement I was moving just as if I hadn’t taken a break.

Right now the people of Sierra Leone are in the middle of the dry season. This is a tough time for those that don’t have access to clean water. Bring hope to the people of Sierra Leone by giving to clean water. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

    Race Pace Training Run

#HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water Only a little wet this morning but it actually felt good by keeping things cooler. Tried to keep at a race pace but as usual my pace was a bit of a roller coaster. Even with music I can’t keep it very consistent from one minute to the next. I need to work on that, but perhaps my consistent race pace is slower than I’d like it to be and that’s why I have such a hard time. I know that I was pushing the limits given how high my heart rate would get. I think maybe it’s time to put aside the training plan that is trying to get me faster and just get out and enjoy the run. How Often Do We Use Water?

In the U.S. pretty much everyone has running water where they live. How much water do we use in a day? Showers, meals, washing dishes and clothes, using the bathroom, watering the flowers/garden/lawn, making coffee/tea/other drinks. What if you had to walk 2-5 miles to get a jug of water, maybe even river or pond water? Can you imagine what it would be like to have clean, drinkable, water just down the block? While we might still consider having to go even a block to get more water and inconvenience, think about the life change close access to clean water actually makes in the lives of those that don’t have it. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Give The Gift of Access to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

12 Miles For Clean Water On A Brisk Saturday Morning

There is a lot of planning and work involved with putting in a quality well that will sustain a village for years to come, and through long dry seasons. When you support a well through Hope Water you can know that your dollars are impacting generations. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Make a global, and generational, impact by giving to clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr With the River Bank Run now being postponed to the fall I’m not sure what my running will look like. I haven’t stopped my 25K training plan, but there won’t be a race to finish out the training. I’m considering a Virtual Race, but it will be more money spent. We’ll see what this year brings for running.

Just Another Half Marathon For Clean Water

The long training run for this day was just another 13 miles, which of course I made a half marathon by squeaking in the last 0.1 miles. On Saturdays that I don’t have early morning family commitments, or that I’m out of town, my goal is to get my miles in before the start of the #HWI group run. I love to hang out with the community even if I don’t get to run with them. I love to hear how Hope Water is impacting our running group as we are working to impact Africa with clean water. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Help Bring Clean Water to Africa: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
