Celebrating A Good Run And Thankful For The Tough Ones

When you have a good training run you can celebrate by looking back on those tough days that got you there. The tough days remind you why you are doing it. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Celebrate the New Year with the gift of clean water. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr It’s the hard days that help you grow and get better, that are going to get you through to the end of a marathon race. Despite how hard they may be at the time, they bring balance to your training. Without the hard days we have less to celebrate on the good days.

Planning With Purpose For Clean Water And Training For A Race

Putting in a well in Africa takes planning, which is not unlike using a training plan for running with a race as the goal. In order for a well to be successfully drilled there is a lot of planning and preparing that needs to be done. Just like in order to have a chance at hitting a race goal you have to commit to a plan. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Be the start of the plan for a new well: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

Knocking Out 14 Miles For Clean Water

This past week I was reading a YouVersion devotional written by a marathon runner. The author talked about the point during the marathon when we are faced with the question “why am I doing this?”. This can also happen during those tough training days. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Today was a good day, but on a long run the question of why can still pop up. My running struggles pale in comparison to the struggles many face each day with finding water, and usually it’s not clean. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Help provide clean water. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

Would You Rather…Run In 90 Degree Heat Or A Foot Of Snow?

There wasn’t a foot of snow this morning, it was probably more like 6 inches, but it still made for a tough go of it as you still need good traction to move. I almost wiped out on a slick spots in the Family Faire parking lot towards the end of my run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus In regards to “would you rather”, my preference is winter running over hot summer running any day. It’s significantly easier getting yourself warmed up by running than it is to get cooled down. Then again it does matter what weather conditions you might expect for any race you plan on running. Given I’ll be running the Groundhog Marathon at the beginning of February the more terrible winter runs…
