Eating Right For Running

As my wife and I have been on a journey of eating healthy, and being more active, I’m always interested in ideas for new recipes or things to try for snacks/meals/etc. Following some of the activity tracking app blogs or other runner blogs is always a good source of ideas.

Getting Out Of The Route Rut

Water brings hope and changes lives. Water can mean the difference between life and death for many in Africa. Will you be a part of impacting the world with clean water? Join me today! https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon This morning I decided to change up the route quite a bit. Where I went wasn’t completely new but it was an area that I hadn’t been in any of my training routes for awhile. There are a fair amount of places to go for my runs so it’s nice to change things up once in a while.

    Another 5K For Clean Water

Pushed this morning’s training run to a 5K distance, and bumped up the intensity a bit. Just like training for a marathon is not easy or simple, so it is with putting in a well. When I had a chance to learn about the process of putting in a well I was amazed at the amount of work that is done before even putting a drill in the ground. A Hoodie Kind Of Morning

It was good that I had a week of blistering cold Minnesota running which pretty much prepared me for the colder weather we’ve had this week. Again, I need to keep my focus on merely finishing and not let myself get caught up with anything else. I can’t deny that it would be great to beat my last marathon time, but I can’t let…

Final Training Run Before The Groundhog Marathon

Things were a bit off, and out of the normal, this morning. It actually started last night as I discovered that the #Endomondo service was apparently down, which meant I couldn’t load my training plan to see what my last run would be. Then this morning the Endomondo app on my phone wouldn’t even load right. Since my smartwatch came with #Strava built-in, and I’ve been syncing data there, I decided to give it a go on my run. It worked out well enough, except the watch and phone apps don’t talk to each other in real-time which meant I had no audio coaching and no real-time stats, including heart rate, pace, etc. Looking at my final stats I knocked the run out with flying…
