Taking A Break From Tech
So a few days ago a came across an article about a different app, for iOS, that had the intent on monitoring and setting up some boundaries when it comes to smartphone use. This app was one that had been previously reviewed, and recommended, for Android devices. I’m giving this a try, as I’m trying to do better with putting the technology aside and actually “being there” my family. The smartphone has it’s benefits, but like anything there needs to be a balance.
Extended Family Holiday Weekend
Had a great extended weekend with the family. Loved having the extra day and enjoyed many fun activities. It started Friday night with my wife and I renting and watching The Shack. Saturday was a busy day starting off with the HWI group run followed by getting supplies and materials to build a deck out back. On Sunday we enjoyed a great Sunday message as a campfire with the family, mother in-law, and father in-law. Monday we had a great morning at the Jenison Memorial Day Parade with the kids. Mom (i.e. Vanessa) was in the parade for the Saturday Slip & Slide so Dad (i.e. me) was in charge of getting the kids a good spot for candy collection. 😉 We wrapped up the rest…
Night Out With Dad
Have to do something special with the kids when it’s a Dad night. Of course the kids wanted the Super Scoop ice cream.
What It Means To Be A Good Father
One of the challenges I have is not getting upset with my kids. In turn that means not making my kids upset with the way I handle my frustrations with their behavior. I need to remember this verse every time I’m faced with training and disciplining my kids. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Pokemon Night With My Son
Got my son some more energy cards and we both built decks that we can actually play with. I really enjoy playing these kinds of games so I’m pumped to have my son enjoy this one. #Pokemon #StrategyGames #games
Are You As Smart As My 6 Year Old?
So I just witnessed my 6 year old daughter count backwards from 90 to zero. I’m constantly amazed at how smart she is. Not to mention that she is already reading at a 2nd grade level.
