First Ice Beard Of The Winter

Despite the stormy winter weather I was able to make some decent time. Having cleats that go over my running shoes is a huge help with any sort of snow and ice I encounter. The real problem was having my running glasses getting fogged up so often from the cold wind. I enjoyed some worship music while running despite most of my focus being on the ground in front of me. I spent a little time praying for a friend’s family due to some major medical issues. I think if I can manage this mornings weather I’ll be ready for the and whatever I get hit with.

Before The Sun Rises, My Time To Run

Only $375 to go towards my goal, only about $12 per day until #GRMarathon day on October 20th. Who’s going to help bring clean water to another 56 people in Africa? https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun My running photo for today is a pretty typical sight for me.It can be a rarity that I’m actually have the opportunity to run with the sun out. With the exception of some shorter runs with the Hope Water team on Saturdays, or a race, my time to run is generally early in the morning before the sun rises. Except for the fact that I’m not really a morning person, and would rather stay in bed than get up and run, I like the peacefulness of an early morning run….

A Wet Thursday For Speed Work

Today was a speed work day, and so it goes with those my mind was pretty much totally focused on my run and hitting the target paces. I did still have the worship music going so I was at least still able to connect with God that way. Even though it was a wet run it did help to keep me cool, especially on the intense intervals. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Donate to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr Hudsonville, MI

Tackling The Wind And The Rain

This morning was a cold, wet, and windy run to meet up with the Hope Water team. I did enjoy running with some of the team for about a mile-and-a-half before parting and finishing out my last 6.5 miles. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus The trek back home was quite a bit harder given that I was running into the wind instead of with the wind. It also didn’t help that I really had to kick things into higher gear to start to arrive by 8am to run with the team. I probably should have gotten up a little bit earlier to give myself an extra 15 minutes or so of running time. The important thing is that I made it there and finished the run….

Hitting The 20 Mile Mark, And I Feel Fine

Wow, what a great 20 mile training run today. That may sound crazy but with the cool weather and the great company of Harvey, Jason, and John it made for a good time. I can definitely tell I ran 20 miles, a little over actually, but I feel very good. If I can tackle the coming 26.2 mile marathon in the next few weeks like today I should be able to finish in a much better state than last year. I still need some more partners for my #HWI fundraiser. Remember your contribution will be doubled with our our matching funds. #HWI #GRMarathon #WaterIsLife #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate Now – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
