With the exception of some shorter runs with the Hope Water team on Saturdays, or a race, my time to run is generally early in the morning before the sun rises. I haven’t posted a run selfie in awhile, but I just wanted to a face to all the running once in awhile so people know in really out there putting the miles in. ? Needless to say, just like anyone else, today was one of those especially tough runs. It doesn’t matter where you are at in your running you will have those tough run days. You know ones where you feel like it’s an uphill battle the whole way. Rest assured though, you’ll get through it and then you’ll have one of the best runs you’ve ever had and you can be thankful that you pushed through those hard days. As a follow up to my previous post it’s important that we remember that everything we are called to do as a Christ follower is in the context of “since” and not “if”. What’s the difference? If we have the thinking, “if someone is doing ‘x’, or not doing ‘y’, they can’t be a believer”, we are basically inferring that someone has no faith or belief in Christ because of their actions. That’s a pretty big leap, and a sure fire way to further the view that Christians are righteous, judgemental, hippacrits, essentially modern day Pharisees. Got my first run in since coming back from #SierraLeone after trying to recover from jet lag and a cold. Felt great to be back out there, definitely with a whole new perspective of why I’m running. Spent a lot of time thinking about those I encountered in Sierra Leone as well as those running in the Bay Shore run today. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water
