10 More Miles And 2 Years Ago

    ByTim Nolte May 16, 2020
It was great weather for a 10 miles run this morning. As I finished things up I was reminded that just 2 years ago I was blessed to be hanging out with a bunch of children in Sierra Leone. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #RiverBankRun I had hoped to return there last year but things didn’t work out. Traveling to Sierra Leone and seeing first hand the hardship of the lack of clean water, as well as the blessings a village experiences when a well is put in, is something that I will never forget. Let me tell you, until you have an experience like that your world view is pretty narrow minded. It’s that experience that has driven much of my perspective on the impact…

Let’s Fight Against The Virus Not Each Other

    ByTim Nolte May 13, 2020May 13, 2020
I wouldn’t call myself a Matthew McConaughey fan, but what he talks about in this news report is exactly where I’ve been at. If we stop worrying what the government is or isn’t doing and start carrying for each other I think we’re going to be much better off in the long run. Turning on each other is going to only makes things worse not better. #COVID19

No One Cares If I Get My Run In…To Run Or To Sleep

    ByTim Nolte May 12, 2020
I have to believe that every runner has those days where you have to sell yourself on the idea of getting your run in. I enjoy my running time, but there are those days where I get up and think to myself, “No one cares if I go out and run, I could just go back to bed”, but when I think about why I am running the idea of not going out quickly fades away. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #RiverBankRun I run, you give, I match it, it’s as easy as that. Remembering The Daily Struggle In Sierra Leone

    ByTim Nolte May 11, 2020
As I wrapped up another 5 miles this morning my thoughts turned to the daily struggle to survive for so many in Sierra Leone. The hardship of trying to gather water, and not even clean water for many, is real. Adding the begin of the spread of #COVID19 in he country and I am deeply concerned about all of those I was blessed with meeting when I visited almost 2 years ago. They don’t have anywhere near the facilities and access to services that we have in the U.S. and they are in desperate need our investment in their future. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #RiverBankRun Invest in the future of Sierra Leone: https://timn.me/2020HWI

Putting in Some More Miles For Clean Water

    ByTim Nolte May 7, 2020
It’s been more of a challenge to get these posts out soon after my run. I’m still going after those miles and trying to keep people aware of the great need for clean water there still is in our world. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #RiverBankRun Give a matching gift for clean water: https://timn.me/2020HWI

What Does It Mean When A Pandemic Hits A Country Already In Need

    ByTim Nolte May 5, 2020
As I ran another 5 miles this morning I couldn’t help but think about the added struggle #COVID19 is now causing in Sierra Leone. I don’t think anyone complaining about the U.S. hardships has even thought about the fact that we still have it pretty good compared to places like Sierra Leone. With all of our indoor plumbing we don’t have to think about travelling 2 miles to a crowded well to gather water. A country like Sierra Leone is between a rock and a hard place when any epidemic hits. How can anyone survive a stay-at-home order if they don’t have water at home for both drinking and sanitation. The only hope they have is organizations like World Hope, and other NGOs, trying to…
