Day Before The Big Run, Grand Rapids Marathon 2018

Headed down to the Grand Rapids YMCA downtown and picked up my race packet and checked out the expo. Enjoyed chatting with some #HWI folks as well as some race organizers for other marathons that take place in the Spring. Who knows maybe another marathon besides the #GRMarathon will be in my future some day. I am signed up for the #RiverBankRun this next May, so looking forward to some winter training for that. I’m still looking to hit that $2000 mark for wells in Africa. I have about $750 to go. There’s still time to partner with me if you haven’t yet. #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Water, to Life – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

Picking Up The Pace With The Snow Cleared

With things warming up yesterday the roads and sidewalks got cleared pretty well. I was able to hit my interval training run paces quite easily. Looking back on the tough training week, I think it was actually a good thing in terms of getting an extra hard without to prepare me for today. I only have a couple of runs left in the training plan before the marathon next week, then it’ll be on to the #RBR 25K training. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

Like those that work for Enable The Children, the children with disabilities ministry, and those that #ETC supports. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun It’s crazy to think that something like rain, which should be a blessing to a people in desperate need of clean water, could cause hardship. For many though, the rainy season makes it challenging to get around and do things like sell their goods at the market. A well also brings safety during the rainy season both from a health standpoint as well as from the risks of trying to gather water from moving water like streams. Help…

Stepping Back To Step It Up

As I keep working on getting back into a regular running routine the part that is also key is the “why” behind it. The mission of raising money, and awareness of the need, for wells in Africa is not complete. That is a message that doesn’t end during the “off” season. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Help Continue The Mission: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr I decided to cut back my miles today with the hope of preventing leg cramps. I didn’t have it initially in mind to kick the speed up but run started so well that’s what ended up happening. The last mile was a bit tougher which brought my average pace down, but I was still plenty happy with how I did compared to the day before.
