Life Change And Purpose Through Running
When I look back just 3 years ago it’s hard to believe that I would be awake at 5:45am cooling down from a 4 mile run. Even in my high school days I wasn’t a morning person, not saying that I am a morning person now. I honestly owe a lot to my wife and #HWI for their part in giving me purpose in my runs. God used them to make a huge change in my life. I don’t just run because I enjoy it I run with a purpose. #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Water, to Life – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
5K Training Run – Need to Slow it Down
I haven’t been posting my runs in awhile, just for the pure fact of the extra time it requires to post it to my blog. It’s just faster using Endomondo’s share feature to post to social media rather than turning off the social media sharing of my blog posts. Today’s training run, day 2/week 3, was a slow pace day. Was very hard to stick to the show pace, as evidenced by my time. It was supposed to be a 11:42 min/mi rune but it was more like 10:00 min/mi. ? [endomondowp type=’workout’ workout_id=’872608651′]
Friday Impromptu Race
On Friday, June 7th, I had the opportunity to join a group of #HWI Team members as part of a marathon relay team. I was chosen to bring the team home running the last 6.2 mile(10K) of the relay. It was a tough run for me as my phone/watch wouldn’t work, other than music through my headphones, so I had no idea what my pacing was and no timer to keep me hydrated regularly like I’m used to. I felt like I was sort of running blind. When I saw the results tonight I was pleasantly surprised to see that I came in around the time/pace that I had hoped based on a training run I did earlier in the week. It was a tough…
Having Your Bowels Cut Your Run Short
Yeah, it’s not pleasant to talk about, but as a runner you generally are aware of the things that can happen while on a long run. And when you aren’t someplace where you can find a well placed #JohnnyBlue things get interesting real quick. I had to cut a couple of miles off my long run this morning in order to literally make a run for the restroom. It didn’t kill my pace, I suppose it maybe helped to some degree. It doesn’t happen very often to me but I’ll have to be a little more cautious in the future.
12 Miles For Clean Water On A Brisk Saturday Morning
There is a lot of planning and work involved with putting in a quality well that will sustain a village for years to come, and through long dry seasons. When you support a well through Hope Water you can know that your dollars are impacting generations. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Make a global, and generational, impact by giving to clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr With the River Bank Run now being postponed to the fall I’m not sure what my running will look like. I haven’t stopped my 25K training plan, but there won’t be a race to finish out the training. I’m considering a Virtual Race, but it will be more money spent. We’ll see what this year brings for running.
Prequel To The Groundhog Day Marathon?
It was a tough run this morning the snow covered sidewalks and pathways really took their tole the further I got into my run. On top of that my CamelBak nozzle froze up and couldn’t get any water for a good portion of the second half of my run. What was supposed to be a 17 mile run ended up being only a 15 mile run. I had my mask on to help cover my face from the wind, which I’m so thankful I had decided to that otherwise my face probably would have been frozen. There is no telling what the weather is going to be like come February 2nd, for the Groundhog Day Marathon. After today’s experience I’m a little more concerned about…
