I’m now on the taper for the #HessLakeRun half marathon in a week and a half. This morning was supposed to be just an easy run but as is my m.o. I pushed it a bit beyond an easy run. It was surprisingly a fairly cool morning. Enjoyed listening to worship music and lifting up friends, co-workers, and family in prayer. I also couldn’t have a run without thinking about and praying for those in #SierraLeone that I met while there. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water

The TL;DR is: I am blessed more than I ever understood and I will make every effort to give thanks in all circumstances. Also, where God’s love exists there is always hope for something better. As I continue to process my experience in Sierra Leone Africa I can’t help but feel like I spent a week in another world. What I find simply amazing is that in a place so filled with hardship, and circumstances I can barely begin to comprehend, there are people that still manage to find joy, be generous, and show love and kindness to someone so very much unlike them. I post my runs for 3 purposes, to bring awareness to the need for clean water, to motivate or encourage other runners, and to keep myself accountable. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun
I almost didn’t get my run in today. I made it out and got it done. #HWI #Run4Water #GroundhogMarathon #Garmin #Running
I headed back outside as the temperatures rose and the snow subsided. Even though the temperature was still in the teens there was no wind so it made for decent running conditions. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun
With as cold and windy as it was the previous day, for a short 3+ mile run, today’s temperature and longer run definitely called for putting on the facemask. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Almost a couple of years ago now, I had the honor to travel to Sierra Leone Africa, and witness first hand the impact that clean water has. If you ever have the opportunity to take a trip like that it’s one you can’t pass up. In some ways, unless you’ve actually been there first hand to experience it, it can be very hard to really understand what it means, and the life change that occurs, from access to clean water. Can you imagine the possibilities of a world where everyone has access…
