Eating Right For Running

As my wife and I have been on a journey of eating healthy, and being more active, I’m always interested in ideas for new recipes or things to try for snacks/meals/etc. Following some of the activity tracking app blogs or other runner blogs is always a good source of ideas.

Tackling An Intense 30 Minute Thursday Run

Some days you just feel great out there running and some days you don’t. Today was the latter, but it was still intense, and I was really pushing myself. It’s days like today that I actually appreciate those hard days where it feels like you are barely moving and all you can think of is, “Am I there yet?”. I appreciate those days because I know that without those days, and overcoming them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I also know that especially on those days God was right there with me walking(sometimes literally) by my side helping me every step of the way. Battling The Chunky Snow Covered Sidewalks

Had a short easy run this morning, except for the snowplow covered sidewalks. I’m thankful for those that actually got out and cleared their sidewalks. Listening to worship music while I ran was good to my mind focused on why I run. Today is #GivingTuesday and there are matching funds available when giving to #HWI so I hope many take advantage of the opportunity to double their giving. Also, I did register for the #GroundhogDayMarathon so I’d love to have the support of people to help me reach that final $2000 goal. I only have $300 left to go. Six people could knock that out easily at $50 each. #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Wells in Africa – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

Knocking Down The Intense Baseline Run

It was a pretty quick intense run this morning, just something to give #Endomondo a baseline for training plan adjustments. Not really much time to enjoy to think about much or enjoy the warmer weather. It’s OK to have one of those every once in a while. I wasn’t sure how today would go given I didn’t get my Tuesday run in after being sick Monday. Every day is a new day! #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

    A Hard Journey For Water

For many in Africa the journey to gather water is a treacherous one. They may not even end up gathering clean water. The goal of #HWI is to provide sustainable and accessable clean water. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Join us in bringing clean water to Africa: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr It was a wet and rainy run this morning, but I got it done. Next time it think I’ll be sure to wear my visor to keep the rain off of my glasses.
