Enabling A Community With Clean Water

When clean water is brought to a community it’s not done suddenly and randomly then moving on to another random village. World Hope(#WHI) works with a carefully chosen village to establish ownership of the well by that village. The village agrees to manage and care for the well in order to serve their community for the long term. The are taught how to maintain and repair the well, and are tasked with protecting it as well. This model follows the saying, “Give a man a fish, feed him today. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.”. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Donate to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

    Friday Impromptu Race

On Friday, June 7th, I had the opportunity to join a group of #HWI Team members as part of a marathon relay team. I was chosen to bring the team home running the last 6.2 mile(10K) of the relay. It was a tough run for me as my phone/watch wouldn’t work, other than music through my headphones, so I had no idea what my pacing was and no timer to keep me hydrated regularly like I’m used to. I felt like I was sort of running blind. • The Other John

Here we’re reading the book of John and right at the begin he begins talking about John. The John that is talked about here is actually John the Baptist who, if you read more of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John) you’ll find out is actually Jesus cousin. Now John the Baptist was called by God to go ahead of Jesus and prepare people for his coming. John was a pretty wild looking guy and got pretty riled up when speaking about Jesus coming. Since he was baptizing people the Pharisees were pretty interested…
  • Listening to Your Children

How often are we “too busy” to listen to our children? How often do we let our personal agendas, attitudes, or being tired let us get frustrated and angry with our children? I’m sure that we all have our moments. And I’m pretty sure we’ve all had to deal with frustrating people in our lives, other than our children. If we want to have a relationship with our children that has a solid foundation then we need to do more but listening and curb the frustration and anger. Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. – James 1:19 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/jas.1.19.NLT
