The kids insisted on having a #SaintPatricksDay party. We made shamrock decorations, chocolate oatmeal cookies, and shamrock shakes.

The Road To Water Can Be A Treacherous One

For many in Africa it is a long and sometimes treacherous road to get to the nearest place for water. Bringing a well to a village not only ensures they have clean water but also the safety of those young girls and boys that would have had to make the trip for water for their families. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Help Protect Young Lives: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

Foggy Extended Run, Reminder, Don’t Forget The Nip Guards

It wasn’t a rainy morning but it sure was foggy. It was still good weather for a run. However, note to self, always wear nip guards on longer runs. I enjoy having the extended runs during the week as it gives me more quiet time. Getting enough sleep is the biggest problem though with the longer runs. I know that I’d probably do better with my runs if I generally got more sleep. I spent some time reflecting on my trip to Sierra Leone during my prayer time. That also prompted me to lift of the #HWI team as we continue to raise support for more wells in Africa. #GRMarathon #Run4Water #WhyIRun #WaterIsLife Give Water, Give Life – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

Should I Give My Kid a Smartphone?

I pretty much agree with everything Craig has posted about. I’ve been on the Internet since High School, and I’m a web developer by trade, so I know all about the dangers. I’m not promoting being the over-protective parent that tries to shelter my kids and set them up for failure. It’s about let your kids experience things at an appropriate age level and teaching your kids. And to Craig’s point, you have no business giving your kids something you don’t understand yourself. It’s like giving your kids a gun because they want one and you’ve never even shot one yourself. Yes, I believe it’s that serious. A Little Sprinkle To Liven Up The Run

I wasn’t sure what I was going to end up running in this morning when the forecast called for rain. It really only ended up being a tiny bit of drops here and there, but I was prepared either way. It’s interesting what you get used to after awhile of running. There was a time that rain meant a treadmill run. These days, unless there is life threatening weather you couldn’t keep me inside. This morning while running I got to thinking about how much the world today seems to be trying to tear families apart. It’s very apparent that Satan knows that he can gain a foothold by attacking families. I see so many throw in the towel on their family all because they…

    Beginning The Next Marathon Training

This morning officially started my next marathon training. As a ran I couldn’t help but think about the #HWI team and all the new people that may have a lot to overcome this year as they prepare for their first half or full marathon. Also those that have already sustained an injury this year and are on the mend. My prayers were not only for the team and God’s protection and strength, as they overcome each step of the journey, but also how God would use me this year to help the team through their training and continue to slbe used to further the cause. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Donate to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
