Reflecting On My Time In Sierra Leone

The TL;DR is: I am blessed more than I ever understood and I will make every effort to give thanks in all circumstances. Also, where God’s love exists there is always hope for something better. As I continue to process my experience in Sierra Leone Africa I can’t help but feel like I spent a week in another world. What I find simply amazing is that in a place so filled with hardship, and circumstances I can barely begin to comprehend, there are people that still manage to find joy, be generous, and show love and kindness to someone so very much unlike them. I chose this photo of children, not filled with smiles and laughter, but showing that theirs is a life of daily…

Kicking Off A New Training Plan

After still not quite getting much in for running the last two weeks I decided to just start a new training plan. For me, I need the motivation of a plan. Sloshing Through A Wet Tuesday Long Run

Even though it had snowed the night before, it was a pretty wet run. When I got done my socks were soaked. One aspect of the slush that I don’t enjoy, besides the wet feet, is the buildup of ice that happens in my cleats and having to run with ice balls stuck to your feet. On the bright side it encouraged me to slow down. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

Pushing The Limits But Remembering Sierra Leone

Tried to push myself to my limit on pace this morning. I’m still not going to win any races but I like seeing where all day physically. Even in spite of my focus being on the physical God was reminding me of why I run, by bringing back memories of those I met in Sierra Leone. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water #WhyIRun #SierraLeone

First Saturday Long Run After The 2019 GR Marathon

When a village is chosen to receive a well World Hope doesn’t just go install it and leave without investing time into the village. It becomes the responsibility of the village, through support from World Hope, to protect and care for, their well through the oversight of a leadership team from their village. When you partner with #HWI you can be certain that your gift will be impacting generations through a sustainable water program. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Make A Impact, Give Today: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr This morning was my first Saturday morning long run since completing the 2019 #GRMarathon and I felt pretty good afterwards. I got a little concerned a few weeks ago when I started having leg cramps at like mile 5. I think that…
