Getting My Butt Out Of Bed And Hitting The Pavement

Another one of those mornings that took some extra effort to get it of bed and get out the door. I really had to fight with myself to not just go back to bed. Always feel even better when I finish a run knowing that I overcame the desire to just stay in bed. It becomes an easier decision when you think about giving up a little extra sleep for the cause of bringing people clean water.

The Christian Responsibility to the Oppressed

    – These days there is a lot of talk about the less fortunate and especially the oppressed. It’s very clear from Scripture that as Christian’s we are to defend, and stand against the oppression that we see. To be clear, however, any stand that we make needs to follow biblical principles, not the rights that the world has made up. Unfortunately, following biblical principles is not how the world wants Christians to stand against oppression.

    Just A Short Tuesday Run

It was nice to sleep in a little before doing the short run, especially given my #Endomondo training plan has me on a 5 run per week schedule. The only problem with these short runs is that I get a little too caught up in my speed. I love having the worship workout music pumping me up to full speed. It was pretty warm out already at 5am. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon

After having had a few colds this past winter, and their negative effects on my running, I’ve decided to start taking vitamin D3 again. Having a cold while running was making it hard to breath and caused me to have a higher heartrate which was not great. I need to keep working on a the health journey I’ve been on and based on a lot of information I’ve listened to in the past most people in the U.S. are vitamin D3 deficient so it’s a good thing to do. I should be clear that vitamin D3 alone is not a cure or surefire prevention for getting a cold. However, it is attributed to a better performing immune system. Anything that will help my breathing, and…

Celebrating A Good Run And Thankful For The Tough Ones

When you have a good training run you can celebrate by looking back on those tough days that got you there. The tough days remind you why you are doing it. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Celebrate the New Year with the gift of clean water. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr It’s the hard days that help you grow and get better, that are going to get you through to the end of a marathon race. Despite how hard they may be at the time, they bring balance to your training. Without the hard days we have less to celebrate on the good days.

Back In The High [Intensity] Life Again

After a brief hiatus on Tuesday, no thanks to a cold and a bad nights rest, I was back out for my early morning run. I really had my butt kicked with a high intensity interval run. I think my only slight advantage was have a previous week of out of the park fast runs. I could sure tell that I had missed a day of running though. Regardless of how tough it might have been it still felt good to be back out running. On Tuesday when I didn’t get out for my run the whole day seemed off. I’m not sure how I’m going to get my Saturday run in with being out of town in a trip to Chicago. We’ll see. #HWI…
