Better Together – Why We Need Community

Community is God’s answer to defeat. You need to find the people who will stand with you in tough times and say, “We’re not going to let you get discouraged. We’re not going to let you get depressed. We’re not going to let you worry. We’re going to stay here with you.”

Day 2 of the @YouVersion plan ‘Better Together’ (http://bible.com/r/Qc)

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

To Blog or Not To Blog, Why Not

As I was looking over the days RSS feeds I came across a news story on Digg by a mother. I just had to think again about this whole business of blogging. Even this past weekend as I looked through the classified ads that Vanessa had saved for me there was an article that talked about the dangers of blogging and trying to get a job. While I wouldn’t consider my blog to contain much of anything that is questionable, I still wonder about it all. I wonder if I should be so willing to participate in something that has so many dangers? Does my very involvement promote the activity to the youth that I am in contact with each week? Blogs in and of…

    Quick…New Calendar

Thx Google for all the neat tools they keep pumping out. I’m now using Google Calendar slightly integrated into my blog. Should work ok. I’m feeling the itch to get back into blogging and podcasting…we’ll see what the schedule brings. I’m also thinking it might be time for a WordPress upgrade and site redesign/makeover. I may even go so far as bridge the gap between my blog site on the Tim blog. Perhaps I’ll bring the designs of the two inline with each other and distribute the content logically between them as well. We’ll see what I feel like doing, let alone have time for. I’ve been feeling for some time that my blog site really kind of got out of hand with so much…

    John Confirms Jesus

(John 1:29-34) So, John didn’t know Jesus really, other than what God had revealed to him. However, the key things that God revealed to him was how he would recognize who Jesus was. We see here that Jesus came to John to be baptized. Even though, as far as John was concerned, he wasn’t worthy to baptize Jesus that is what Jesus required of him. He did this and then John saw first hand the Holy Spirit come down onto Jesus, and this was exactly what God had told John would happen. At that point John had no doubt at all that this was Jesus. He told everyone what he had been told and experienced.

    Thanksgiving Training Run

Got my own little 10k+ Turkey Trot in this morning. Staying on course as I train for the #GroundhogDayMarathon in February. Looking to represent the #HWI team at that event. After having my water freezing on me this morning I can already tell this is going to be an interesting training season. Oh, it looks like I happen to #PR this morning, which wasn’t my intention, but it happened so that made for a nice way to start off the #Thanksgiving day.
