Getting Back On The Saddle, With A New App In Tow

After taking a couple of weeks off, after my virtual half marathon, I’m trying to get back into a regular running routine again. Unfortunately, the running app that I’ve been using since I started running is being retired in favor of another app. Now I’ve for a whole new setup that I need to get used to.

    Christmas Eve 10K+ Training Run

Enjoyed a run with some light snow falling. One challenge was that when I started things were clear, with no snow in the forecast, but a couple miles into the run the snow started and I noticed many slick spots on the sidewalk. And wouldn’t you know I had decided not to wear my cleats. I surprisingly still finished with a pretty solid average pace. I haven’t really ran in much for significant weather yet this winter. We’ll see what Minnesota brings to my runs next week while visiting family. I get a lot of comments about not “taking a break” from running. Despite The Coronavirus The Need For Clean Water Has Not Gone Away

In these uncertain times there is one thing that is certain, there is still a need for clean water. Without clean water it becomes real hard to promote sanitation. I may not be running in a group but I’m still committed to running my own for clean water. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Be a part of change, support clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

Back At It After A Long Weekend Break

It was a little bit of a struggle starting out this morning after having a long weekend of no running. Felt better by the end of my run. Through one of the worship songs this morning I was prompted to pray specifically for the father’s of Sierra Leone. There are many women and children that have been abandoned because of cultural stigmatism. My prayer this morning was for a revival in the hearts of the husbands and fathers of Sierra Leone. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water #SierraLeone Hudsonville, Michigan, United States of America

5 Mile Labor Of Love On Labor Day

Help bring a brighter future through clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #CleanWater A well in Africa may not look like much, it’s not fancy, but it literally can mean the difference between life and death for children and families. I’m $875 away from hitting my $1000 fundraising goal. Right now we have matching funds available, so this means every dollar someone gives is two. It’s the best time to give and have your gift doubled. I had a good Monday recovery run this morning. Once I got in the groove things felt great. I was pleasantly surprised when my trudging along at the start actually turned out to be a faster pace than it felt like.
