Even When Away, And Things May Be Not Working, You Can Still Run

I’m not quite sure my pace was actually that good on account of my phone GPS not working, my heart rate monitor not working, and not having my watch(it didn’t charge over night). It turned out to be a run where I just had to gauge my distance based on how much time it might take me to get to the half way mark. According to Google Maps I went father than I needed to.

Running while in vacation can always be a challenge. Whether it’s just finding the right time without disrupting the family, or finding a safe place to run, there are a range of things that can cause a challenge. We’re going to be on a lot of camping trips this summer so it’s going to be interesting to see how the training goes.

    A Brutal Winter Run

    Wow, that is all I can say about the weather this morning on my run. Between the freezing rain pelting me, the massive wind gusts, and the snow-covered sidewalks that reduced my traction to almost zero, let’s just say I felt like I ran 12 miles not just shy of 6. I laugh because today was supposed to be an easy run day, and with that pace you might think I took it slow but that wasn’t really what went down.     Nailing The Saturday Long Run

    This morning I really just ran to the worship music and went at the pace that felt comfortable. I’m pretty blown away to see how much I improved my pace in just a couple of weeks, where I finished with a 9:50 min/mi pace. I think the most enjoyable part of my run this morning was just being pleasantly surprised by the next worship song. When the next song came on I just got into a zone of focusing on the music and running in time with it. I loved it.
