A Training Run Of Reflection
This morning was not only filled with worship time but also some time of reflecting on the holiday and the joy of celebrating with family the birth of our Savior. I’m thankful for the day we had to put all of the challenges of recent days, weeks, and months aside and enjoy time together with family. The New Year is upon us and, as it approaches, I pray that God would continue to guide our family in fulfilling his plan. I also spent time thinking about the next Sierra Leone trip coming May, and the team God is putting together. During this time when the best course is staying at home away from others as much as possible focusing on #WhyIRun and the people of Sierra Leone keep me going. if you let yourself get stuck on focusing on yourself you’ll start to get even more overwhelmed and selfish. This past Saturday was the official start of the 2020 #GRMarathon season. The #HWI team had a virtual group run meeting via Zoom to kick things off. I was running almost 12 miles so I got them wrapped up before the group meeting. Today was an easy 5 mile run to start the week off. #Run4Water #WhyIRun5K+ Christmas Morning Training Run
After opening presents with the kids, and helping them get their gifts ready to play with, I headed out for a short Christmas run. I pushed it a bit as I wanted to make sure I wasn’t gone from the family too long. The kids were up before 5am this morning so it was good that I didn’t chance it and try to hey my run in before they woke up. I’m thankful for how God has blessed our family. I’m looking forward to more of a joy filled day. I pray that no matter what the situation any of us are facing this Christmas that we can all still have joy and thankfulness for the greatest gift we have received in Jesus Christ. #HWI…Ran The Hot Cider Hustle – Grand Rapids 5K

Had a nice cool 14 mile run this morning. It’s amazing how much cooler temperatures make a difference in how you feel on the longer runs. Felt great all the way to the end. It was a bit shorter run than last week of course. Loved seeing everyone out for the group run this morning. I was glad to have gotten the 14 miles wrapped up just in time for the start of group run. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water Walker, Michigan, USA
