First Snowy Run, First Ice Beard

The winter running season has officially begun. It was just a light snow so the sidewalks were still clear for the most part. We’ll see what they’re like tomorrow after the snow accumulates. I’m not on a new training plan but an easy 6 mile run seemed like a good distance to shoot for.

    Two Weeks Since Groundhog

It’s hard to believe that it was 2 weeks ago that I did the Groundhog Day Marathon. It’s been nice to get back into a running routine this past week. Do to so e family things going on I wasn’t able to make it to run with those from the #HWI team. Hopefully I’ll be able to make some time soon. This morning while I listened to the worship music I was thinking about the next #SierraLeone team. I prayed that God would bring just the right people together for this trip. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

One More Thursday Morning 5 Mile Run Before The Final Tapering of Miles

Getting down to the end of the Thursday morning training runs, soon we’ll be tapering off as the #GRMarathon is only a few more weeks away. This morning we got so wrapped up in conversation that it seemed like the run was done before we knew it. That is one of the joys of running with others is that it becomes less about the run and more about the relationships. #HWI #Run4Water #WaterIsLife #WhyIRun Donate to Wells in Africa – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne I’m only about $165 away from the $1000 mark. We still have matching funds so every dollar is like two. You can easily make double the impact with your gift.

    3rd 5K, Tough Morning…Inclines

This morning felt like a pretty big challenge. It being my 3rd 5K this week I just felt off from the start. After looking at my distance climbed I think I understand why today felt like so much of a struggle, I had about 90 feet of incline then my last 2 5Ks. Looks like the machine decided to take things up a notch today. I’m not unhappy with my pace. It just feels like I took a step back from the start of the week. I think my body is still recovering from lack of sleep since I was up way late the night before last. I hope it’ll work to make it to a HWP group run soon. Having Your Bowels Cut Your Run Short

Yeah, it’s not pleasant to talk about, but as a runner you generally are aware of the things that can happen while on a long run. And when you aren’t someplace where you can find a well placed #JohnnyBlue things get interesting real quick. I had to cut a couple of miles off my long run this morning in order to literally make a run for the restroom. It didn’t kill my pace, I suppose it maybe helped to some degree. It doesn’t happen very often to me but I’ll have to be a little more cautious in the future.

    Intense Monday Recovery Run

Give just $25, and it’ll be $50 with the current matching. $25 a day until the #GRMarathon to hit $1000. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Every morning I get ready to go run I turn to the sink to fill up my water. However much I feel like I need or want. For villages in Africa the choice is not that simple. We have public drinking fountains, bathrooms everywhere. Every dollar Hope Water raises helps to make water more readily available to those in need. I’m glad to say that I didn’t end up with any significant injuries from my fall on Saturday, other than some scraped up knees. I managed a pretty intensive run this morning. Everything felt great.
