    Dusting Off The Blog in The Corner

    I’m going to keep this a little short as I’m actually typing this all out on my phone. I decided to try to consolidate and at the same time bring my old blog up-to-date and back into the picture. I haven’t really taken the time to blog in years. Going to perhaps pick things up again, while at the same time tie in my Twitter and facebook. We’ll see how it goes, not making any commitment, plus I can only type so long on my phone before nmy hands get tired. More to come later, hopefully.

    When God Calls for Patience…

    I’ve been caught up tonight in some major Google searching. “For what” you may ask, “where is God leading me?”. The realm of my searching was community of faith, postmodern youth outreach, and reading some about the idea of the emergent church. What does this all mean? I have no clue. I feel an urgency to move (not just location), and for making great changes in my life. I’m searching to find out what’s next. I’m finding that perhaps God is calling me also to be patient and let Him reveal this change to me in His time. I kind of feel like it’s a bit cruel to be called in such a way but then asked to wait.     Prayer, Worry, and Thankfulness

We live in a world that perpetuates​ that thinking. Good wants us not only to bring Him our needs but wants us to come to Him with be thanks when things are going well. It’s easy to forget to go to God in the good times but that’s like never hanging out with your friends but just going to them when you need something.     A Day of Blessings…

    Well today has been such a full day of blessings. The sermon this morning, given by President Egge, was on generosity and not just about giving money, but the generosity that Christ showed to all through time & help. It was really good to hear about being generous in all areas of your life, following Christ’s example. Our LifeShapes study was excellent as well. Today we went through the hexagon, which focuses on prayer, and using the Lord’s Prayer as the model. While it gace and guideline, it also showed the vast ways that guideline can be worked out in our prayer life. Thomas I was challenged today in how I approach being a Dad. Too often I choose to focus on everything but my kids. Our time is too short with our kids, and there will be years ahead when we will have all kinds of time to pursue other things. I will say that this is one of the reasons I wake up at 4am some days to get a run in as I make an effort to not let my running negatively impact my family. #parenting #sacrifice #responsibility
