About Time For A Post…

Of course it has been awhile since my last post. It seems that blog world is a bit of a roller coaster ride. These days it just seems like the time runs short or there is just too much to mention for the time I have. Well, enough of that for now. So what have I been up to? Life has been full of work, church, and the love of my life.

Let’s begin with things on the work front. For those of you that didn’t know I work for iPCS Wireless, Inc. which is an affiliate company of Sprint. We own the Sprint cellular network for much of the area from Iowa to Pennsylvania. My official title is Network Planning Associate. I’m on the Network Planning team which is responsible for helping create web tools that help to plan our network expansion. We keep pretty busy keeping everyone happy. I’ve learned so much about cell phone technology and refined and enhanced my web-service programming and database administration. Lately I’ve had the opportunity to dabble in AJAX for a couple of the projects I’m working on. I work with a couple of great guys at our location too.

I’ve also been pretty busy with things at church. The church just opened the doors of it’s new youth building and also kicked off a new Sunday morning ministry call Splash. I’ve been involved with the Splash ministry running sound. It’s been sort of hard as we haven’t had anyone else really on board to dedicate to helping run sound for Splash, but we’ve been getting by. I’ve also worked on setting up a new online bookstore for the church. As soon as the new website design goes live we should be launching that new store as well. There is always plenty going on at church. I’m also apart of a small group that meets on Thursday nights. We’ve been going through a series by Andy Stanley that has been excellent. We only get together a couple times a month so I’m still getting to know people.

I’ve also been getting together with some people in the area to play card games/board games/party games. I became apart of the group through Meetup.com. I’ve gotten both Vanessa and her brother involved in the group too. Vanessa’s only attended once recently. It was so fun to have her join me! They only meet a couple times a month too. It’s been fun to just meet some new people and play some fun games.

And of course I’ve had the joy of spending lots of time with my bride-to-be. We’ve been having a lot of fun planning all the details of our wedding. We’ve gotten the ceremony location booked at Frederik Meijer Grardens as well as a small reception dinner there to follow. I know many of you are bummed about not begin able to come to the wedding. We’re hopeful that a summer celebration will work for many. We’ve gotten our wedding rings, the wedding dress is on order, and the honeymoon is booked. Doesn’t seem like we have too many more major things to cover. It’s all coming together so nicely.

This month will be quite busy with Christmas parties, and a Christmas vacation out to the great state of Minnesota. I sure hope that we’ll get to see a lot of you while we’re visiting. Well, that’s all for now. Till the next update!

    Updates Coming Soon…Hopefully Very Soon

Well, I’m going to try to tackle a big catch-up. I’ve got some dishes calling me, but afterwards, the blogging continues. Yeah so I’m been a little lax in the blog-o-sphere. Trying to get myself back in the groove of everything. Be back soon…Oh, I’ve got some new Christmas photos in the gallery…at least they are in the progess of uploading…

Being Apart of a Community of Faith…

I know it’s late but I had to share a little of what happened today. I had the privilege today to talk with my boss, Todd M., about some exciting ideas of establishing a community of faith. He has been leading a group on Sundays, which I am apart of, and Wednesdays. We’re studying “The Passionate Life” and the Life Shapes. What is more we all have a desire to get away from the model of “doing church”, but being apart of a group of believers that is missional & relational, where Christ’s design for the “church” is lived out in our daily lives. I yearn to be building relationships that are about kingdom work not just self-fullfilling. At the lowest level of this community…

Great HWI Group Run, And A Personal Best

Had a great HWI Team Daybreak Group Run this morning. I love our community, and I especially love running with someone else. Training on your own definitely takes a lot of discipline, and having these group runs make for a great motivator to keep going during the week. I’m hopeful that I can join a couple guys I’ve been running with during the week for some training runs. Oh, and to top things off I hit a Personal Best this morning for a 1 hour run. Great way to kick off the day and weekend! [endomondowp type=’workout’ workout_id=’931912560′ ] Walker, Michigan, United States of America

A Post, A Post, At Last A Post

So what have we been up to, well when I say we I mean me. So life has been a little crazy this past week, although I don’t expect it to calm down anytime soon. I’ve got a lot of things to do by this weekend. I’ve got a load of photos to scan and some more video to import. I don’t think I’ll be getting the Cantata CD’s done by Christmas, oh well. Ok I guess I’m getting a little ahead of myself. How about we go back to last week. So my last post was Wednesday. That night was youth group and the whole youth praise team was there to lead music. We were even able to get everything setup in the fellowship…

    Unfortunate News…

So I didn’t get a blog entry in yesterday. Oh well, not much went on. I spent a good portion of the day trying to work out wireless issues. I won’t go into the details, however, ended up spending time today working on it too. I guess it’s back to the drawing board on this one. I’m going to need to do some more research into this. So I got two rather unfortunate emails today, both from my Mom. She’s going to be leaving our home church and finding a new church. This has a lot to do with everything that went on with Masha and how too many people at church didn’t understand. Things were very hard for my whole family. People at church…
