A Time of Pruning…?

Well, it sure seems like I’ve entered into a time of pruning. I got an email tonight that someone has been hired to redesign and take over the camp website. I really haven’t been involved with it much the past year, but it seems like my involvement with camp is coming more to a close. I still have mixed feelings about this. When you give so much towards something and then not be apart of it anymore it’s just kind of a strange feeling. I really hope that they will be served well.

I’m kind of feeling a little lost now. I’m so used to having a load of things to do. If I don’t have a project to work on I’m not sure what I should be doing. I suppose I can start working better at taking care of things around the house. Who knows, perhaps God has something big in store for me soon and is clearing the way. I guess this is a time of pruning for me.

Paintball with the youth has been canceled tomorrow. So I guess I’ll be taking care of stuff around here. I’ve got a load of leaves to clean up. I think I might try to get together with Andrew Foss tomorrow and talk about music at youth group. Although, I’m thinking that I’m going to have plenty of time to continue doing that.

So I was a little curious, so I set my match settings on eHarmony to give me matches for the entire world. Well let’s say I’ve got a total of 9 matches. This kind of made me chuckle, and kind of confirmed some of my thinking. It would seem that I probably have a pretty unique personality, and that I have perhaps a small box of requirements for someone to fit into. I’m really not interested in any kind of long distance relationship. There is a match with someone in Alexandria, but I don’t know how good of a match it is from what I read initially. I’m not sure I want to be spending $50 to find out.

Well, I don’t have much else to talk about tonight. I’m tired and need to get up at a decent time tomorrow. Chow!

    The Invisible Man Speaks!

OK, folks. So it has been a rather long time since I last posted. Let’s just say that my life has been a little busy. Last week on Monday I started my new job. My official title is Associate Network Planning Engineer, isn’t that a mouth full. I work on a team that develops tools to help track the cellular network and help to plan for expansion. The crazy thing about last Monday was that even though I was starting no one there that day really knew that I was starting. The guys I work with got the emails that morning about me starting. The IT deptartment wasn’t very happy as they hadn’t even begun working on getting me a computer. I basically had not…

  • The Other John

(John 1:15-28) – One thing that can be confusing wen you are reading through the Scriptures is the fact that the same names are used in more than one context. Here we’re reading the book of John and right at the begin he begins talking about John. The John that is talked about here is actually John the Baptist who, if you read more of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John) you’ll find out is actually Jesus cousin. Now John the Baptist was called by God to go ahead of Jesus and prepare people for his coming. John was a pretty wild looking guy and got pretty riled up when speaking about Jesus coming. Since he was baptizing people the Pharisees were pretty interested…

    Everything In It’s Time

For me as a Christian, it seems that one of the things I struggle with most is leaving things in God’s hands. I don’t know if part of my struggle is because I’m a man, and I feel the uncontrollable urge to fix things and have eveything planned out. When I don’t know God’s plan, and how can any of us know it really, I realize I fall into the sin of worry. I think it’s probably the worst when I truly desire to leave my life in God’s hands and trust in His plans for it. It think we too, I know I do, fail in having the secret desire of want God’s will for our lives to be what we desire. Above all,…
