Today the goal was to do the whole run at my anticipated marathon race pace, which I’m targeting a 9:30 min/mile. My pace was a bit too fast, but it was a much shorter run, and given I did a 25K(15.5 mile) race this spring at an 8:30 min/mile pace it’s reasonable to be at a little over 9. There wasn’t a foot of snow this morning, it was probably more like 6 inches, but it still made for a tough go of it as you still need good traction to move. I almost wiped out on a slick spots in the Family Faire parking lot towards the end of my run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus In regards to “would you rather”, my preference is winter running over hot summer running any day. It’s significantly easier getting yourself warmed up by running than it is to get cooled down. Then again it does matter what weather conditions you might expect for any race you plan on running. It was a little bit of a struggle starting out this morning after having a long weekend of no running. Felt better by the end of my run. Through one of the worship songs this morning I was prompted to pray specifically for the father’s of Sierra Leone. There are many women and children that have been abandoned because of cultural stigmatism.
