First Ice Beard Of The Winter

Despite the stormy winter weather I was able to make some decent time. Having cleats that go over my running shoes is a huge help with any sort of snow and ice I encounter. The real problem was having my running glasses getting fogged up so often from the cold wind. I enjoyed some worship music while running despite most of my focus being on the ground in front of me. I spent a little time praying for a friend’s family due to some major medical issues. I think if I can manage this mornings weather I’ll be ready for the #GroundhogDayMarathon and whatever I get hit with. #HWI #Run4Water Donate to Wells – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

Training During The Winter, Treadmill Alternatives

So up until the end of December I’d been sticking out running outside. Since the snow began to fly I’ve taken things indoors on the dreaded treadmill. 😉 Currently the treadmill running has been thanks to a great 3-month deal on a gym membership. Once we move into our new house in February/March I’ll be on our own treadmill, which we picked up cheap(used) before Christmas. I came across this Runner’s World post today that has many ideas on ways to keep training in the Winter months, or cold climates. I think the most…

5K Training Run – Need to Slow it Down

I haven’t been posting my runs in awhile, just for the pure fact of the extra time it requires to post it to my blog. It’s just faster using Endomondo’s share feature to post to social media rather than turning off the social media sharing of my blog posts. Today’s training run, day 2/week 3, was a slow pace day. Was very hard to stick to the show pace, as evidenced by my time. It was supposed to be a 11:42 min/mi rune but it was more like 10:00 min/mi. ? [endomondowp type=’workout’ workout_id=’872608651′]

    Race Pace Training Run

#HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water Only a little wet this morning but it actually felt good by keeping things cooler. Tried to keep at a race pace but as usual my pace was a bit of a roller coaster. Even with music I can’t keep it very consistent from one minute to the next. I need to work on that, but perhaps my consistent race pace is slower than I’d like it to be and that’s why I have such a hard time. I know that I was pushing the limits given how high my heart rate would get. I think maybe it’s time to put aside the training plan that is trying to get me faster and just get out and enjoy the run. Not…
