It was a tough run this morning the snow covered sidewalks and pathways really took their tole the further I got into my run. On top of that my CamelBak nozzle froze up and couldn’t get any water for a good portion of the second half of my run. What was supposed to be a 17 mile run ended up being only a 15 mile run. I had my mask on to help cover my face from the wind, which I’m so thankful I had decided to that otherwise my face probably would have been frozen. There is no telling what the weather is going to be like come February 2nd, for the Groundhog Day Marathon. Since we’re gone camping this weekend I decided to get my long run in before we left. I was thinking a lot about my experience in Sierra Leone while I ran, including those specific people I had the opportunity to meet. I miss being there and am a little saddened that I may not get back there again. I’m still processing my time there, and trying to better share small pieces of my experience with others. This morning was a bonus #Endomondo training run day. According to the Endomondo marathon training plan I needed to do at least 5 days of running per week which meant adding Wednesdays as a running day instead of the #HWI training plan’s cross training day. I haven’t gone through to see how other things line up though I have my doubts much will actually line up. We’ll see what plan I end up following in the end. I spent some time thinking about, and praying for, the people in Sierra Leone, especially those that I encountered last year when I was there.
