Fighting For Integrity

He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. - Proverbs 2:7 NLT

We aren’t born with a heart of integrity, and if we want it, we have to fight for it.A Life Of Integrity

In a world filled with concern for only ones self, and the drive for success, integrity is always being challenged. It isn’t as simple as just making the good choice, we have have to stand against an entire world that apposes us.

To fight also means to surround ourselves with people who are always watching and holding us accountable. – A Life Of Integrity

We can’t make it through this world as a Christ follower on our own, let alone maintain integrity. We all need partners to do life with and keep us accountable to living a life of integrity.

We are much more likely to continue to compromise when no one cares that we are doing it or will not find out. Accountability is hard, but is a key ingredient to taking responsibility for our actions and words. – A Life Of Integrity

Without accountability to keep us on course we will continue to fail, or worse, veer way off course. I’m thankful to have a group of men in my life to call me out, challenge me, and keep me on course.

  • Time To Get Serious: He’s Everywhere

Isaiah 43:1-7, God is omnipresent, today’s reading is talking about how God is everywhere and cannot be contained. However, it talks about two different kinds of being present. One is His essence and being everywhere in His fullness, the other is His presence in His relationship to us. When Jesus was on the cross, God the Father was there, but Christ called out “My God! Was have You forsaken Me”, so there was a lack of God Father’s relationship being there. This passage in Isaiah is talking about how God has a special presence with His children, which is not there with those that aren’t His children. As Christians, God is not only around us but with us every step on our walk. This reminds…

    Another Tough Interval Training Run

I’m not sure what to make of yet another hard interval run. It is training so to a degree it should be hard. I guess I’m hopeful that in the end I will be better trained for the #GRGus Groundhog Day Marathon come February. I think I consider it a failure when I can’t hit the intervals all right on with the expected pace. Maybe I’m focusing too much on the plan and trying to get better instead of just being content with being ready to simply finish the marathon. There is also the aspect of not losing sight of the reasons I run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

Kicking Off A New Training Plan

After still not quite getting much in for running the last two weeks I decided to just start a new training plan. For me, I need the motivation of a plan. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a matter of if I don’t have a plan I won’t run, it does make it harder, but it really comes down to just not wanting to have to figure what I’m going to run every morning. With a training plan there is no question of what am I going to run, I don’t have to think about it, I just get out there and do what the plan says. Besides starting a new training plan, something that was said to me the night before, in regards to…

Remembering The Daily Struggle In Sierra Leone

As I wrapped up another 5 miles this morning my thoughts turned to the daily struggle to survive for so many in Sierra Leone. The hardship of trying to gather water, and not even clean water for many, is real. Adding the begin of the spread of #COVID19 in he country and I am deeply concerned about all of those I was blessed with meeting when I visited almost 2 years ago. They don’t have anywhere near the facilities and access to services that we have in the U.S. and they are in desperate need our investment in their future. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #RiverBankRun Invest in the future of Sierra Leone: https://timn.me/2020HWI
