  • Time To Get Serious: Encountering a Holy God

Psalm 11:4-7 – The scripture for today talks about God’s Holiness and our sinfulness. I think it becomes so easy, and wrongfully so, for Christians to begin to rank sin. The reality of it is that in God’s eyes there is no one that is more sinful than another. I know we can think that as Christian were better, and not nescesarily boasting in that, but we think those that maybe aren’t Christians are so much worse than we are. Boy are we deceived. God is Holy and perfect and can’t stand the hint of sin. As Christians the difference for us, as compared to someone that isn’t a Christian, is that we have Christ standing in place for us. The decision we make to…

Early Tuesday Morning Training Run For Clean Water

It’s a strange thing comparing your hot midday run to your cool early morning. I would have thought that I was going to knock my pace out of the park this morning but alas no. I have to believe that my lack of rest last night was a major contributor. The interesting thing was seeing my heart rate drop to the low to mid 130s during miles 5 & 6. I can only attribute that to my shower pace during those miles while I was pretty focused on prayer for family, friends, and those needing water in Sierra Leone, like the village of #Ronkorhun. I’m hoping to find those one again that are willing to partner with me to bring clean water to Africa as…

    Attempting To Follow The Plan

In an effort to actually take into consideration the things I read about running, and specifically training, I tried to slow things down today. I was still a bit faster than the training plan called for today but then it also felt like I was barely exerting myself, which is also kind of the point with slowing down and actually training my body and not just pounding on it. An additional benefit of slowing things down are being able focus and my one-on-one time with God. It allows me to actually listen to the words of the music that is playing, and listen to God’s prompting. Today was less about bring up my, or others, needs but about simply being thankful for where I am…

Reflecting On How Far I’ve Come

When I look back to 2016 at this time I’m pretty amazed at how far I’ve come. At that time I was lucky to probably have gone 1 mile in around 30 minutes, and that was probably mostly walking. Comparing that to my run today I can honestly say that God used running to make a huge change in my life as well as the people of Sierra Leone, Africa. God has blessed me in my running. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun
