Getting The Frosty Saturday Morning Long Run Done

I didn’t get my Thursday run posted but I did make it out. I had a couple of later morning starts than normal, as I just needed a little more rest. I’m glad to say that I hit all four of my training runs this week.

    Kicking Off The Week With A Nice Run

    This morning was one of those slow to get out of bed mornings. Once I got out and started breathing in some fresh crisp morning air I was awake and ready to roll. Especially after hitting play on the workout worship music. The first half of my run was time to just enjoy the worship music, the second half of my run I spent a lot of time in prayer. The combination of prayer, worship, and running it’s kind of a trifecta for me. I’m blessed that God had bought me to this place.     Expanding The Meaning Of Running For Water

    So this morning, after making it about a quarter of a mile from home, I realized I had forgotten to grab my water when I walked out the door. At that point I really didn’t feel like going back home and starting my run over. The first half of the run was OK, but the second half was a bit more of a struggle without my water, making my #Run4Water mean even more than normal. As I continued through my run, #WhyIRun was at the forefront of my mind. My struggle doesn’t even compare to the daily struggle for clean water that those in Sierra Leone, Africa face. I had the benefit of a virtually unlimited supply of water waiting for me after the run….

    Serving Others

    God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. – 1 Peter 4:10 NLT  Sometimes I think we lose sight of how God intended for us to use our gifts. If we are using our gifts to serve others, not just the church or ministries, we are doing exactly what God has called us to do. Christ came as a servant, as an example to us how we should serve others.

    A day late on posting this. Better late than never, right? It’s hard to imagine that I’m only a couple of days away from the marathon. I so appreciate this guy training with me these past many weeks. Looking forward to hitting the next milestone and crossing the finish line together.
