Prayer, Faith, And Taking My Temperature

I’m not sure what I was all thinking about at the time I created this draft post but these words from the book are so excellent. Checking where my faith is at is a weekly, if not daily, thing.

    A Day of Blessings…

    Well today has been such a full day of blessings. The sermon this morning, given by President Egge, was on generosity and not just about giving money, but the generosity that Christ showed to all through time & help. It was really good to hear about being generous in all areas of your life, following Christ’s example. Our LifeShapes study was excellent as well. Today we went through the hexagon, which focuses on prayer, and using the Lord’s Prayer as the model. While it gace and guideline, it also showed the vast ways that guideline can be worked out in our prayer life.     Today begins a great step for me. I’ve gotten up in time for devotions & quite time, and looks like I’ll get to work a little earlier. I started reading a devotional I picked up some time ago. Time To Get Serious by Tony Evans. The reading for today seems to fit right along with Pastor Dave’s message yesterday. The key scripture Philippians 3:3-7 was when Paul was talking about all the things he could boast in but that none of it meant anything next to Christ.     Early Tuesday Morning Training Run For Clean Water

    It’s a strange thing comparing your hot midday run to your cool early morning. I would have thought that I was going to knock my pace out of the park this morning but alas no. I have to believe that my lack of rest last night was a major contributor. The interesting thing was seeing my heart rate drop to the low to mid 130s during miles 5 & 6. I can only attribute that to my shower pace during those miles while I was pretty focused on prayer for family, friends, and those needing water in Sierra Leone, like the village of #Ronkorhun.
