If we consider how generous God was to give His son to die for us, his call for us to be generous in our giving pales in comparison. I’ve heard it said, by Robert Morris I believe, that we can’t out give God. I’m always challenged in the area of generosity, with even my time and care for others not just my finances. I am blessed to have a wife that has a generous heart to help challenge me and counter my weakness in this area.

    Ok, so things at work were pretty good. I realize that my expectations of what I want to get done are perhaps slightly too high, and I get distracted easily which also prevents me getting done all that I want to. I’m certain that I’ve got some slight case of ADD. Todd took Bruce Stumbo & I out for lunch at God Father’s. Good pizza, and I got dessert pizza this time too!     Moving On From A Marathon…It’s Really Not About Me

    So today is the 2nd day since completing the marathon, and unfortunately I find myself in more of a discouraged state than in celebration of my accomplishment. There are many things going through my head, many thoughts that cause me to be more disappointed with marathon Sunday. Nothing played out like I had hoped. I ended up coming in behind most of all the other marathon runners from our group despite leading the pack throughout training. I didn’t get to cross the finish line with my running partner, or my kids. I ended up walking most of the last 4.5 miles. I ended up going to the medical aid tent after crossing the finish line. I have no photo of me crossing the finish line….

  • Quick For Now…Best Birthday Ever!

    So, before I hit the sack. I just have to thank the most amazing women in the world [Vanessa ;-)] for the most amazing birthday ever. OK, so some of you are thinking “it’s not your birthday yet” well, we celebrated early because we’ve got our dance class on Tuesday. Today was an awesome day! Vanessa gave me a season of Seinfeld on DVD and a disc golf bag. She took me out for dinner at a great place called Rose’s on Reeds Lake, and we had some wood-fired pizza, it was excellent. After dinner we headed over to a theatre to see an improv group (River City Improv). We had a load of laughs. Well, I’ll have to get into more later. I don’t…

    Just A Short One

    Well, here I am in the wee hours of the night. So the pleasant act of IMing and playing music caught me up tonight. I pretty much got my taxes done, and it looks like a good tax return. Too bad I have debt, I go out any buy one of them fancy 5G iPods, 🙂 Well, I’m hoping in the next couple of years to have all the small debt paid off. Then it’ll just be down to the big stuff like the car & house. I didn’t get my devotions in this morning like I had hoped, was up too late again of course.
