God’s Plans, My Hope
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord . “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11 NLT I know there will be good days and not so good days. There will be times that the future seems uncertain. Despite how things may seem I know that God has my future in mind and I can rest and rely on that hope.
Congrats Peter & Becky…
Well, I headed down to the Twin Cities today for Peter & Becky’s wedding. I’m glad I gave myself plenty of time. I kind of got lost but still made it an hour before the wedding. I got to see some former camp staff I haven’t seen for awhile. It was fun to reconnect with people again. Greg & Janet sat next to me at the wedding and I got a little caught up on what’s been happening at camp more recently. The wedding was great. I do have to say though that weddings are getting hard for me. Genesis 2:18 was referenced a lot today, which is fitting for a wedding. However, for a guy in my situation, it’s a hard thing to listen…

Not Been Forgotten…But Changes Coming
Writing a quick note that although my last post was 6 months ago I think it’s about time to make some changes. I’m not sure exactly the plan. I may just start working on bring this site up to speed and use it as my hub for both Twitter and Facebook. Some other possibilities might be to roll it into a new Family site or move it into a portfolio of work site. I’m not sure, but 1 thing is for sure that with all of the domain names and “sites” that I control I need to pay some attention to them once again…or at the very least set them up to be a launching point to my activities in the Social Media space. Well,…

We Can Always Choose To Take A Timeout
“God offers a table to us, a place of rest and renewal and community, in the presence of our enemies. No matter where we are or what pounds at our door, He invites us to sit with Him and eat at His table.” SELAH | Defining Rest In The Age Of Productivity
The Engagement…
So I know that I’d let everyone know how the engagement happened so here it is. It’s not some super amazing thing. I really wish I could have made it a super magical experience but I just didn’t get there. I planned out a full day of activities together starting with breakfast. I was wanting to include Vanessa’s parents in on the breakfast but they couldn’t make it. Before I got to her place to take her to breakfast I made a quick stop over to the flower shop to get a rose for her. My plan was to use it later in the day. We headed over to a restaurant called Wolfgang’s. It’s located in downtown Grand Rapids I believe. This place has the…

If Money Were No Object, What I’d Choose For My Next Developer Machine
These days I’m sporting an HP Chromebook 13 G1 which has mostly been a good machine. Seems like even with 8GB of RAM I still end up with some freeze ups when I’m plugging in or unplugging my USB-C dock. It’s rather frustrating but fortunately Google Chrome is designed to recognize abrupt closes and can recover. I used to run in developer mode but now since I can run Android apps I’m using Termux with a Linux shell and Neovim as my IDE. I’m still working out the best setup for Neovim but so far it’s serving me well. So back to the premise of this post and the main image. If I had the finances to support it I’d want my next machine to…
