Cabinet Remodel, Finishing The Doors

Today I needed to finish up cutting down the cabinet doors, the last part needed to make room for the microwave above the stove. I got the table saw out for the first time since selling our house almost 2 years ago. It’s been sitting in storage. I got them cut down by chopping the tops off. Then I used my father-in-law’s router to get the cabinet edge trimmed so they fit in the new reduced opening.

I’ll be honest the sanding, mudding, and painting things are my least favorite thing to do. Anytime I get to build something new, or fix something, that’s when I have the most fun with these remodeling projects. I’ll be finishing out the day with the not so fun stuff.

    So this past Sunday, in a continued effort to find my replacement note taking tool for Evernote, I decided to give my blog a try as a not taking tool.     Another Day, Another Dollar…

    Well another day gone. I didn’t feel like I got as much done today as I wanted, but that always seems to be the case. I didn’t even make it to any breaks today. Nothing too special went on today other than the normal Tuesday/Thursday work. Got an exciting email today. Moe Gifts had it’s first sale today! It was someone in Virginia. Don’t kow how they found the site. The site tracker I installed doesn’t seem to be giving very accurate results. My hope is that some of the link exchange work I did is how they got there.

    Working On A Bit of DIY Garage Door Repair

    The torsion spring winding today I ordered from Amazon arrived today so I got to work removing the old broken spring in order to measure so I could order the new one. Found some great detailed instructions on replacing and measuring the spring. Hopefully I can get the right spring ordered and get this garage door fixed so we can have out garage stall back.     New House…It’s Remodel Time

    So this Monday we took possession of our new home. While technically it was move in ready it needs a lot of updating. So we have 3-4 weeks before we need to be out of our rental and we’ll be working away to do as much remodel work as we can before we officially move in. Last night I got the range hood removed and counter extension removed. Tonight I checked the measurements of the new over-the-range microwave and what work was going to be involved with getting the cabinets modified and the microwave installed.
