Week 2, River Bank Run 5K Training
Today started off my 2nd week of training for the Fifth Third River Bank Run 5K. Felt good after my workout so I can definitely see that I’m improving.

Final Training Run In Minnesota
Final Minnesota run this morning. Got some hills in as well as a fast interval run. The temperature has been getting warmer, the feels like is now above zero. Makes for a bit more of a comfortable run when the wind gets wiping. Since I had more time today, day off today, I took an extra 4 minutes to cool down. Lost the full stats but caught my average minutes per mile to be 10. Feeling a bit frustrated with that average given that my best average to date was 9:31min/mi, just a week ago. :-/ I feel like I’m getting worse not better. Need to figure out what’s going on. I felt pretty good starting out this morning with a speedy starting pace. It was a short run this morning so I kicked it up a notch s bit above the easy pace that was called for. I love it a couple of the worship songs come on that talk about running or moving, those really get me fired up. One thing is for certain, winter running is certainly my thing. Sporting the Slip n Slide 5K shirt on my training run this morning. It was a hot one at 5am, I can’t imagine doing my run later today. Running in the heat took me back to our short 3 mile run in Freetown #SierraLeone and remembering #WhyIRun for those in need. I was blessed to have 2 fresh bottles of water available to me while I ran.
