Time For New Shoes

New Shoes, Old Shoes

I’ve been running on these old shoes for some time. They’ve gotten pretty badly worn and it was high time I get new ones before I injured myself. Looking forward to my first run in them. A little bird (i.e. my wife) told me that a couple HWP Team Daybreak members have these shoes too.

  • Back At The 5K Training

I got back outside and returned to using Endomondo for my 5k training. Today’s training had 10 very fast intervals which really seemed to kick my butt by the last couple but I made it through. I did have a personal best for a 5K which was awesome given I’ve been out of it for a week. Was glad to be outside and back into the running routine. Short Easy Wintery Run

Since I’ll be getting a lot of walking in today on my daughter’s field trip I decided to just get it a few miles this morning. Nice short slow run. It was much colder than yesterday so I put on an extra layer. Sporting my new winter running gloves with reflective finger covers. Since the majority of my running is in the dark I do my best to think about safety and being seen. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

Getting The Saturday Long Run Done

We all have those off days, for me today was one of those. The second half of my run was more challenging than last week. Given I PR’d for a half marathon I was surprised by today. I really can’t complain, I was supposed to be running a 9:40 min/mi pace. So in reality I was pushing when I shouldn’t have been. Some times I think about giving up the focus on pace and even getting faster and just go out and enjoy the run for what it is. I’m sure at some point I’ll get there, I’m just not sure if I’m ready to be at that place yet. When you are running for almost 2 hours you have a lot of time to…

DNF 14 Miles, Winter Won Today

Some days you have a hard run, then there are some days where your it’s just brutal. Today the deep coat of fresh snow got the better of me. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus I was even doing my best just stick with my training plan running pace of 11:01/mi, but that wasn’t enough to get me through it. After 10 miles I just need to rest, which was only 2.5 miles after I had started up again running with the Hope Water team for maybe a mile before we parted ways. It’s tough having a day like to day knowing that in 2 weeks I’m supposed to be running a marathon (26.2 miles for those that don’t know).

Despite The Coronavirus The Need For Clean Water Has Not Gone Away

In these uncertain times there is one thing that is certain, there is still a need for clean water. Without clean water it becomes real hard to promote sanitation. I may not be running in a group but I’m still committed to running my own for clean water. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Be a part of change, support clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
