A Little Bit of Hill Training
I haven’t run into a race course yet that didn’t have some hills. When you are training it’s important to do some hill training if you don’t want to get caught off guard with hills during your race. Between sidewalks and paved trails, we are pretty blessed with the conditions we have to run in. In stark contrast, for most in #SierraLeone the road to water is dangerous. Christmas Eve 10K+ Training Run
Enjoyed a run with some light snow falling. One challenge was that when I started things were clear, with no snow in the forecast, but a couple miles into the run the snow started and I noticed many slick spots on the sidewalk. And wouldn’t you know I had decided not to wear my cleats. I surprisingly still finished with a pretty solid average pace. I haven’t really ran in much for significant weather yet this winter. We’ll see what Minnesota brings to my runs next week while visiting family. I get a lot of comments about not “taking a break” from running. Knocking Out 6 Miles, Because Why Not

Taking A Break From Tech
So a few days ago a came across an article about a different app, for iOS, that had the intent on monitoring and setting up some boundaries when it comes to smartphone use. This app was one that had been previously reviewed, and recommended, for Android devices. I’m giving this a try, as I’m trying to do better with putting the technology aside and actually “being there” my family. The smartphone has it’s benefits, but like anything there needs to be a balance.
