Serving Others

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. – 1 Peter 4:10 NLT 

Sometimes I think we lose sight of how God intended for us to use our gifts. If we are using our gifts to serve others, not just the church or ministries, we are doing exactly what God has called us to do. Christ came as a servant, as an example to us how we should serve others.

    How Do You Stay Warm In Sub-Zero Temps? Run.

    It really looks worse than it was. I was trying to get a smile in there but I think things were a little too frozen. Ha. Despite how cold things were with the wind chill, it was really a comfortable run. I even got finished with a pretty great average pace.     Sticking To The Plan, An Ready Training Run

    This morning I was able to keep the pace on the slower side. It helped to keep my mind on the worship music and lifting family and the people of a Sierra Leone up in prayer. When you see family struggle and there is not much you can do to help you realize quickly that God is wanting you to bring those needs to him to take care of. For the people of Sierra Leone, I don’t recall if their dry season has started yet, but regardless my prayers are for wells to continue to be drilled to provide more people easy access to clean water to help their children stay health and in school, and to improve life for their entire communities.     Wee Early Morning Run

    Well, this morning was not a typical training run. With having to start work at 5:30 in the morning my focus was mostly on getting done as quick as I could.     So despite the disappointments that come my way. Life is good. At times I wish for things I think would make life better: more friends my age, my dream job, more money, a significant other. Today God has reminded me of all the blessings he has given me: my job, the friends I do have, exactly enough money to take care of myself, and a relationship with Him. I know I can seem like the most unhappy, unsatisfied person when you read my posts. Things aren’t usually as bad as I might make them sound. My biggest struggle is this whole area of relationships.     It’s Late…But a Couple of Updates.

    This is going to have to be short, I need to get ready for bed. Life’s been pretty great, but busy too. Vanessa and I have been busy planning wedding details and starting to get things ready at her place for me to move in. It’s tax season and I got my taxes all done and submitted last week. On the bad side my MN taxes are under review I guess, just got a not about it today. It doesn’t say that I’m being audited , but they sent me a questionnaire about my MI residency, perhaps they couldn’t believe that I’d think about moving to MI. 😛 jk Last week my PowerBook was sent off to Apple for a little repair.
