In the U.S. water is so easily available that it’s easy to take it for granted. In places like Sierra Leone water is not so easy to come buy or at least clean water that won’t cause other issues. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon

Imagine this picture take during the rainy season with a rushing creak under this bridge. That is just one of the many dangers that children, on the trek to water, face each day. When water isn’t easily accessible to a community most often children are tasked with making the journey each day to gather a container of water for their families. Struggling Through A Solo 15 Miles Training Run

It’s tough doing long training runs all by yourself, and 15 miles is no joke. I pretty much got my peak pace at around 10 miles. The final 5 miles was quite a struggle at times, and my lap pace times reflected it. It’s hard to imagine that I’m going to need to go another 11.2 miles beyond what I ran today come marathon day. This year has felt way more off than last year. I got it done nonetheless. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water

This morning during my prayer and worship time I immediately thought of the #EnableTheChildren staff and kids and the impact that rainy season has on them. I also focused on the #WorldHope teams as they work on drilling new wells. Praying for safety and success as the teams work to put the wells in that the #HWI team raised money for. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon

A Little Speed Work, And A Lot Of God Time

While I did have to focus a little bit on the speed work part of my training run this morning, I spent a good part of that time reflecting on a lot of what God has been speaking to me about over the past week.
