But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here! ” - Matthew 14:27 NLT

9.4 Mile Combo Training Plan Run, With Some Rain On The Side

Today was another combo plan training run, #Endomodo distance and #HWI pace. Does that surprise anyone? Ha. It was nice to have things a bit warmer given the wind and rain. I don’t feel as soaked as yesterday but early in my run I felt like I was headed into a hurricane, especially when you see the rain moving horizontally. After making through the first half of my run I spent the 2nd half praying for the village of #Ronkorhun and the church that is supporting them. I also thought about all those from the #HlWI team that have incurred some sort of injury that is now preventing them from running. Lastly, my thoughts turned to my sister’s new family addition PJ, who was just…

    Night Owls Unite…

So yeah, I think I’ll forever be a night owl. Seems like no matter what I can get myself to bed early at all. Of course this makes it almost impossible to get up early in the morning. You’ll notice I didn’t get me devotions in this morning, er rather yesterday seeing as it’s already tomorrow. If there weren’t things going on so close to 5 I’d just get into work by 9 in the morning and work later. Well perhaps after this weekend we’ll giver a go again. So yeah, works been crazy as usual. Looks like I may have like 3 website jobs coming my way too. Jim & Ginny have been spreading the word. I’m grateful but I just don’t know how…

Feeling Very Out of Shape on My Long Run

After getting through about half of my run in this morning I could tell that the second half was going to be a struggle. Over the past year, even though I haven’t stopped running, my running wasn’t always as consistent and my diet has been all over the map. These two things of course have made a significant impact on my running. I don’t know to what degree all of the craziness that has gone on this past year has been a major instigator of my downfall, but I’m sure it has attributed to it. I need to do better. Maybe that will be my next New Year’s resolution. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun Give the gift of clean water this Christmas: https://timn.me/2020HWI

Looking Back on 2017, the Year of Firsts

I don’t recall if I’ve ever written any sort of year-in-review blog post or even social media post, but this year I have had so many firsts that I wanted to reflect on and share my thanks for. Health In the health department I not only reached my initial target goal weight but actually surpassed it, and my second target. I think this year I’ve weighed the least that I have in 26 years. I have always struggled with my weight and living a more healthy lifestyle. I attribute my success primarily to my wife, and also to the encouragement of many friends and family. I also had to have a lot of self-determination as well, but that was only had by seeing the impact my…

    God’s Timing…Not Ours

(Exodus 11:1-10) Looking again at the story of Moses being used by God to bring the Isrealites out of Egypt, we can see that things didn’t go as the people, or Moses, had hoped. God, however, had a perfect plan in mind. I’ve talked about it before, but once again I am reminded, that in all things God has a plan for us. I really like both Proverbs 19:21 and also Proverbs 16:9, they both make it very clear that even though we may have something in mind, it’s ultimately God who is in control. It can be very hard to accept God’s control and plan for our lives, especially when we have to deal with tough stuff. It can be very easy for us…
