I never did get to see any friends. Oh well, hopefully another time. Sunday, my family and I headed off to the Minnesota State Fair with my aunt and uncle. My sister invited two friends so they basically went off and did their own thing. It started out with kind of crumby weather on the way, but it cleared up by the time we got their and started walking around. I can’t say that I say anything exceptional. Did visit the technology building (surprised?! LOL), and Unisys had some pretty cool bio-metric stuff they were showing off. HP was there with SolidWorks but I really didn’t play around with it much. Had all of the good fair food of course. Had my cheese curds & mini-donuts. Registered to win a few things: iPods, Eagle boots, Harley Davidson motorcycle. I haven’t heard anything today so I’m assuming I didn’t win anything. We got home about 8pm, didn’t really do anything once we got home.
Monday, was another day of sleeping in, got up around 11:00am. We did pizza for lunch, then everyone was trying to decide what to do. We were thinking about going to a park but not sure where. Found that there was a free Labor Day picnic on Hariett Island in the cities. Garrison Keillor was supposed to be there, but we didn’t get there until close to the end. He was there at the start. We spent about an hour there while a string concert was going on. We walked the dogs around the park. We headed back to Le Sueur and basically I packed up to go. We went to DQ for supper, I got mine to go, and got on the road back to Fergus. Didn’t get home until like 11:00pm.
So headed off to work this morning, of course I was up late as usual, and I didn’t get into work until a little after 8:30am. I try everyday to try to get in by 8:00 but I hit the snooze too much. It would help if I didn’t stay up so late too.
So of course, trying to get back in the swing of things after the weekend menat not getting as much done as I would have hoped. That’s a never ending battle. I always have huge expectations for what I want to get done. Back to mostly record keeping tomorrow. Got home around 6pm, did some supper, and then worked on some webcam stuff & blog & mostly getting music together for youth group. I haven’t gotten in contact with all the youth yet. I figure I’ll use tomorrow night as an intro or spring-board into forming the team for this year.
I’ve decided I’m going to try to use OpenSong on my Mac. It’s a lot like EasyWorship and MediaShout. Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but it’s pretty functional for free. We’ll see how it works. I need to make sure we can have use of the old projector at church. I’ll need to be sure to di this right away in the morning. If the old church projector isn’t available I might see if I can borrow the CLB projector at least for tomorrow. I don’t have transparencies prepared for this, I suppose if I needed to we could do music in the sanctuary. I’m going to need to make sure I get out of work early and to the church to get everything setup. Hopefully my amp is still there all in one piece.
Well, there’s a lot more that’s coming to mind that I could write about but that’ll have to wait until tomorrow, eyes are getting heavy. Till later…
Sing me sweet music, with projectory goodness
interesting… but I only need to read it once.
